This week we are still in Florida exploring the Tampa RV Supershow. While touring some of the Million Pound Motorhomes we also discover a huge selection of budget friendly travel trailers and Class C RVs that fit the bill. Could we have found our new American RV?
We are also joined by our great friends Tony and Marinda, and spend a couple of days exploring the gorgeous coastal stretch between St. Pete and Clearwater.
Our family have been roaming around the UK, Europe and US since 2007. We set off on each trip with only a rough destination in mind, allowing the roads we take and places we stop to evolve as we meet new friends along the way.

Absolutely, we love our KZbin premium subscription and haven’t seen ads for years. Unfortunately KZbin now takes care of where and when they put the adverts in our videos, and if we choose not to include adverts, they just put them in there anyway.

You are compelled to use expensive camp sites. Looking at the RV’s you were looking at. If you look at the 4x4 option you could go off grid for a few days as well.

We’ve already rented in the US 3 times now and have managed to off grid for at least 75% of the time. Whether it’s a 4x4 or not we should be able to dry camp off grid just fine with any of rigs we looked at as they all come with a generator and we will no doubt upgrade the leisure batteries, however we’re aware if we go for a larger rigs we’ll be more limited to where we can take it and park it.

Hi both, loving the Florida trip, yes, I know what you mean, two nations divided by a common language, when I used to go to meetings in the US, we would spend ages trying to agree wording for our technical standards for aircraft (civil and military). Love the show, hope its got you closer to getting your RV, plenty of bang for your buck in the US, some of those large slide RV's were fantastic, real home from home, go for the Encore 375RB...😍 Love the food choices, just what we would have ordered 😉

The best state that we have found to register your rv in the usa is south dakota

Unfortunately we would need a South Dakota Driver's License, South Dakota ID, or Social Security Number to register a vehicle in South Dakota. Montana is the only state that doesn’t require this, therefore the only state we can use to register the vehicle as non US residents.

Definitely rent. As a rv technician, if you're not able to keep up on maintenance it will fall apart. There already built cheap. Plus the monthly storage. Just not worth it. Don

In my experience of renting RV's in the States I have to say they are "all fur coat and no knickers", in other words they look the part but are horrendous regarding interior build quality.

What a fascinating video, I watched most of it with my mouth wide open. I like your favourite very much, interesting that your friends don’t use their washer and dryer although on your travels you may well do so. I also like the first option. Now remember. Hotel breakfast food, isn't representative of American anything, lol. Just saying. Restaurants serving breakfast like Cracker Barrel, IHOP or a little hole in the wall, um, Mom and Pop place, for better gravy. Brown or white. That second Uber driver the name is pronounced, Hay suz for the name Jesús, as pronounced in Spanish. Looks like you two had a great time, with new friends and besties'. It seems most people who do 5th wheels do so for the space, and a home like feel, not so much freedom to move about. I like the Class C better. Not the Encore but the other one you showed your friends. You can always rent a car if you want to see the sights, and leave your RV at the park or resort. Lol "yeah they put air con in everything" (Americans) 😆😆In my opinion we Americans, as I've seen, want all the comforts of home, and it becomes more RV glamping then camping. A lot of ads in this video but thanks for taking us along.

Your money and you’re obviously in a very fortunate financial position so that’s great. However while I totally get why you want to tour somewhere different after years of spending time in Europe. But what happens to your motorhome back home? While you have kids you are tied to school holidays and can’t be in two places at once. I don’t see the point of having two massive investments sat about not being used. What’s the plan for the swift?

We have explained this previously, however we only travel during school holidays and we have no plans on getting rid of our motorhome or campervan as we still need them whilst we’re here in the UK.

Motor Homes in the U.S. are cheap for a reason, in a couple of words cheap & nasty. They are very much like their big brothers the HGV's they are dinosaurs, about 10 years behind anything you will find in Europe. The fact you do Motor Homes for a living you probably know that, howevere it does give you utube content. If you buy a new one the disclaimers you have to sign in the U.S are legendary just so you cant sue them, or it proves very difficult for the buyer, and negates any lemon laws for the buyer.

Have you watched Liz Amazing's channel? She does videos on the issues people have with US RV's. They really are mostly piles of junk. Even spending hundreds of thousands doesn't buy quality. I would disagree with the HGVs being 10 years behind though. It's at least 30. Watch Bruce Wilson's channel where he has a Scania. On one video he compared it with a peterbilt. It's an absolute joke. Watch it for the entertainment value and how good those Scania trucks are.
