Super excited about it!

@majav15mg6 жыл бұрын
A Keeper Of Odd Knowledge Totally bro! But you know what else makes a difference? The shape of the guitar! The material that the knobs are made of! The age of the wood! The material the pick is made of! The amount of oxygen in the room! Whether someone in the room farted recently will also affect the tone! Also, the position of the sun, the planets, stars and even galaxies in the sky will also affect the tone! The horoscope sign of the Guitar Player will also affect the tone! But yeah, totally dood. Da wood affects the tone too! In fact, we all know we must pay $18,000 for that fancy trans-neptunian wood in order to get that very special sound! I mean, blind tests??? Give me a break!! Yeah, yeah, I know... we have all fucking failed it and they’ve shown that tonewood makes as much difference as the mass of my cock does on the orbit of Messier 35 but... that’s just nonsense!! Of course wood matters!! Fuck Science and blind tests! All hail cognitive bias! Let’s all spend $50,000 on fancy pretentious wood!

Oh, that Mediterranean Sundance was a pleasant surprise! Will a roasted swamp ash body need a finish, or can it remain raw like the roasted maple necks?
@warmoth7 жыл бұрын
DiMeola, FTW! RSA does not require a finish, but I would probably at put some kind of oil on it to keep out dirt.
@bobisadrummer7 жыл бұрын
Do you happen to know if applying oil will result in a color change like the clear finish causes, or is there an oil that won't darken the wood? My original plan was a swamp ash tele body with a maple neck and a walnut pickguard/control cover with gold hardware. I'm looking to keep the body's wood lighter than the walnut pickguard for color contrast. With RSA becoming available, I figured roasted maple neck and roasted swamp ash body would be a nice combo.
@warmoth7 жыл бұрын
I haven't seen an RSA body with an oil finish, but my guess is that it would still darken it.

What about cutting/modifying a roasted swamp ash body? Is the wood too brittle/hard? Is the roasting process done before or after you machine the body?
@warmoth6 жыл бұрын
The wood is roasted before it is cut, and the color goes all the way through. This means if you cut or sand it, it will still always show the nice roasted color.
