The truck is beautiful. I love the looks of it. I understand that it’s not as fluid is a better build, but a lot of us cannot afford hundred dollars sitting under the body of a shelf queen. But as a driver, I can see how frustrating that would be. But what I’m saying is I would still give the truck a 10 because it’s beautiful, and I would just put it back on the shelf.

Little Johnny: "Mommy, i can't make it drive good." Mommy: "It's okay dear, at least it looks good.." 😂😂😂😂 Kidding! Mostly kidding. Okay I'm gonna have to create the Anti Shelf-Queen Brigade! Hehehe There are some things that can be done to help this rig perform better. If that spare (definitely looks cool) has a metal clamp ring, you could replace it with a plastic one. Stiffen the rear shocks. Get a brushless system. Lose the wheelie-bar / spare tire. Oh, oops i already addressed the spare. That thing looks great, and it performs better than many. I suck at bodies, and scale stuff, so disregard what I've said! 😊

@@maxwellwills1816 Maxwell! I still remember your bug! That thing is sick, and just like what i would build, with the X15 axles (one of my favorite). I'm still waiting on a set of sliders from Mazz for this hotrod body, and then i should be set (3weeks to 4weeks). It's a Mazz V2 short, with Gladiator links, a Cedar, big oil shocks, and a hotrod body. Should be interesting when it's done i think. Have not tested it yet. I never test before complete, then i try to fix any issues. I hear there is a waiting list, so i guess i should jump on it now, but i am not finished with the build so i didn't want to jump the gun. Now i have another chassis, the Mazz V3 XL, and I'm thinking of doing some crazy stuff with it... Focus focus focus! One build at a time! Lol

If you never modified a stock truck, you can get along alright with a brushed motor. Start adding weight in any way (hard-body, weights, etc.) with no substantial motor upgrade=frustration.

Cool video and thank you for sharing😎👍seeing all of these bug builds, I'm definitely leaning towards doing a bug build myself👍shame it didn't perform that well. We are having a few issues today, I wondered if you would mind helping us out with some advice please? My son has his birthday rigs now, we have put a couple of packs through them, they was going great, when we woke this morning we fancied a crawl, upon our first ascent on our indoor home built course, on one of our centre shafts, one of the 'continuous velocity joint's' collapsed, both pins flew out! They are the Injora stainless steel D shaped hole shafts, we managed to recover all parts that fell off, would you have any good ideas how we could repair them? Or even better...... would you be able to recommend a more reliable set of centre shafts? Perhaps made by a different brand? Any help would be much appreciated. My man is only 5 and he does know that his dad will sort it but he's a little upset right now 😢 I've been thinking about maybe putting them together, clamping them so they stay still then trying to solder/braze the pins into place 🤷♂️ I only ask you as I know you use your rigs HARD! and I'm sure you must have had to deal with this type of situation before. Thanks bud👍

@tomwright943 All you really need to do to fix that pin issue is glue them in place with some CA/Super glue. Some have used heat shrink. Others have used a center punch to mushroom the pin to lock it in place. Glue is the easiest fix IMO.
@tomwright9434 ай бұрын
@@HillbillyHermitRC thank you bud 😎👍I'll give that a go. Do you know of any more reliable centre shafts on the market? Cheers👍

@@HillbillyHermitRC thanks me old bud and thank you for the advice 😎👌I've glued my boy's back in now, it's working a treat 😆 I must admit that I was a little dubious about using the C.A. liquid glue (as I'm very clumsy with it) in the end, I went for the gorilla 'gel' alternative, and applied it with a pin, it's holding up really well 😎👍 On my rig, I use those shafts too, a few months ago, I did have a pin slip, I squeezed it back in with pliers, the tolerances seem tighter on mine and it's not slipped again😎👌if it does move though, at least (using your advice/technique) I'll be able to sort it fairly quickly now 😎👍 I did message injora with photos and they gave similar advice that you had given. Again thank you, my son thinks I'm a hero again😆👍

Beetles are probably optimal for comp; it seems like they'd tend to land on their wheels, and avoid snagging on overhangs. That said, I don't like them, because people haven't, and generally don't, build them as 1:1 crawlers. My Pros: It's a fun build, and gives props to Satan. Cons: It's really noisy.
