One problem with Archeology that they don’t remind you of in college is that it’s already been discovered 95% of the times. So, there actually very little use for an Archeology degree outside of something like Museum Curator or History Teacher
@Phlebas3 жыл бұрын
@@aaronlandry3934 I don't really see it that way. Archaeology isn't just about big game-changing discoveries (though those still happen every few years - the Cooper's Ferry site in 2019, the identification of Denisovans in 2008, the Triquet Island site in 2017, off the top of my head). On the academic side, it's often about testing theories about what might have happened in the past, and "digging holes" is pretty much the data collection aspect of it. Most people who end up using their archaeology degrees end up in Cultural Resource Management (which is what I do). Basically, any time there's some development being put in place that will cause ground disturbance, CRM archaeologists will poke around and see if they can find anything of archaeological interest. It's all wrapped up in heritage conservation laws. But as I said, it involves a lot of digging holes. And then writing reports about the holes you dug and submitting them to a government agency. Fun stuff.

@@ujjwaldhyani5063 Yes, and this is precisely why I stated people care a lot less about it (because people who are not physics majors don't get boggled into the theory and really do not care too much for the theory). The engineering part is really the calculating sector for problems. I am not a physics major so it is unclear to me whether if you guys do "proofs" or something similar to that nature. I only know about physics from the introductory university physics course I have taken which ended up being a lot of equations and solving for things while also requiring an understanding of physics theory.

ok but how hard is accounting? if it's boring but is easy and doesn't heavily involve socializing with co-workers, sure ok. but what kind of math does it involve? data management, statistics, anything similar (i hope not they're all just nightmare fuel for me)? or is it just using addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication over and over again? also do you actually have to go to grad school for that stuff or is there a way to get certified right after graduating with a bachelors?
@fakealias3 жыл бұрын
@@twentyonetortas5921 at this point you kind of need a masters although not actually required. Accounting varies a lot based on what kind of accounting. I’m an auditor so a lot of my work involves making sure our clients are doing there accounting properly which has a lot of recalculating their work and seeing if our results match theirs. The math involved also depends. If you are in tax there’s a lot more math involved but most of the math is done in excel or done by the computer. Honestly most of accounting is keeping up with current accounting policies and writing up documents with some calculations to back up documents. The simplest way a teacher put it is that accounting is the languages business.
