Re edit: I am sorry but this Anime is good. (Not the best but above average) Remember that Kirito was just 14 years old boy (Asuna 15) who lived just like us, in our normal world. This is from their perception. Don't expect this anime to be more mature and complicated. *I repeat* They were LITERALLY teens. So many times characters in this Anime and especially Kirito don't even think about themselves. They put their lives under danger for some strangers and among those strangers there are also killers. What have you been doing at the age of 14 or 15? Wouldn't your 15 old self be impressed by their mindset and achievements even though they were so young? I just loved the show when I watched it for the first time. I was also 16 btw and I related a lot to these characters especially to side ones. Of course if you are 18+ or just mentally mature this show might not seem smth you would like to watch. For me personally, I don't watch shows were MC are teens anymore. But it doesn't mean that SAO is actually bad.

Was an okay anime, became popular as it was pretty recommendable. People into more seasonal anime from its popularity. Longer time fans didn't like the second half of the season. The newer fans who had only seen cartoon network anime thought it was the best shit ever. People who saw it early in their anime history have high memories of it, people who had seen a lot more remember it being over hyped and over popular so it must have been really shit. It was alright, not a masterpiece, not a garbage fire. But when people claim it was objectively a masterpiece it spawned a lot of backlash attacking it, causing people to remember it worse than it was or better than it was and defend it.

Somewhere along the line it became popular to hate on SAO so now it's always gonna have a large group of people that dislike it just for the sake of disliking it. Realistically the first few seasons were alright, while the last few were very good. The light novels are a completely different ballpark than the adaptation though, straight 10/10s.

I'm very late but I guess for me personally, the reason I like love live is because of my own passion and interest in the whole idol thing, I even want to join the industry so having a show that's kind of motivational and optimistic about is helps me continue working towards that goal. The dances are great practice for beginners too so I always enjoyed it. I think it's much harder for you who isn't into idol culture to get into it because well, it's not your area of interest, and it's kind of cheesy, I get it. Even though I love the series, I'd give school idol festival an 8 at best, as for sunshine, I can't go beyond 6 as it is mostly the same concept with different girls. The music is another topic though and is worthy of praise.

I think when it comes to shows like Darwin's Game it kind of matters how you go into it. If you go in expecting ground-breaking, original masterpiece creative visions you'll be disappointed but if you go in expecting only trash it will elevate the show quite a bit. The show is pretty much an 80s "American" teen angst movie come to life. If you've ever seen a movie like Little Nikita, Red Dawn (the original not the remake) or Iron Eagle you'll get the meaning. It's pretty much built for us in that crowd. While I wouldn't give it a 10 I'd certainly give it an 8 to 8.5 based on what it is. For others who love the "teen hero" genre (as is obvious in this list) it would definitely score higher. He seems to like not just Shonen but teen heroes in general (cases where the underdog has the chance to rise). I'd say about 80-90% of the titles on this list seem to fit that mold.

I myself loved how it's characters seemed absolutely human, making human choices, doing human things, making human mistakes. Even the big bads had their own reasons for doing what they did and even though it's easy to disagree with their reasons, it's very easy to understand their thought processes on the matter.

As a huge Love Live fan, I'll tell you why I enjoy it! When I first got into the anime, I was in a really bad place mentally. I wasn't really happy, I had so much anxiety, and depression. I was starting to think of giving up trying. But watching Love Live actually made me feel so much better. It made me smile, and laugh, & really helped during that dark time. The characters are so cute, I love the music, and the storylines. To me, Love Live is one of the best anime I've watched, and it will always have a special place in my heart. It's not for everyone, of course, but I really don't think it's as bad as the way you're making it seem. It's just a cute musical anime, that has helped many people like me!

There's no huge adversity or competition and everyones happy. I don't love Love Live. I'm no good at rhythm games, I don't like the anime, it's a bit too much. Music isn't really a big "thing" of mine. Basically it's the opposite of everything that's for me. But like,,, it would appeal to people and clearly does and sometimes people just want happy cute girls doing happy cute things. There are people who just adore the songs, the people who officially sing and perform them. People love the game for how varied it is and they love the fact that the card sets are drawn/designed by a different artist for the game.

Yes, Yakusoku no Neverland did miss something... More angst. I had such anxiety while reading the manga and there were moments that didn't give me the same thrilling feeling in the anime. Like the one where rhey played tag with the new mom, the manga made it look like she really was going to kill them right then and there. In the anime, it didn't have the same vibe.
