I agree about the bathroom vanities. Maybe you could customize your own using an antique dresser.

If you do this, you have to make sure you put a modern varnish on it so that the water doesn't ruin it. I have a beautiful sideboard antique buffet I bought. I didn't know how fragile it was. I put it by our dining table to act as extra food space, but when a little water got on it, it left a permanent stain.

Meant to tell Leslie, if you want to see that green tile in situ, Bordeaux Life here on youtube has posted a video of the same or very similar tile in a renovation they are doing.

I was just about to say the same thing! Ed and Anna did a great job with the green tiles in a tiny bathroom

It’s the same, they buy most everything from Leroy Merlin. Even that black and white tile Edd used at the passion project and the Château; you can tell if a Brit has remodeled a place that’s for sale…they all use that black and white, those hanging vanities in wood, red modern kitchens. 😂

I wish you both all the best in your future endeavours with the chateau and Christian learnings. I love what you're doing for the youths and the values you extend as well. Awesome job!!

You could make your own vanity. Get a washstand or chest of drawers or cupboard at the brocante that you like and convert it to take a sink and plumbing. It will need to be a suitable height. You could do a vessel sink or inset. Vessel might be easier.

A hedge of boxwoods behind the electrical junction box might be a way to hide the solar panels from the chateau.

Beautiful "Oh holy night." I agree with the ugly vanities. I would look for a nice dresser and convert it. We are planning to move to France next year and am in disbelief as to the lack of storage in bathrooms and kitchens over there, let alone closets.

Hi, found the explanation about the non profit very interesting and what a wonderful thing it is.

I immediately thought of the basement hallway when you showed the lanterns. I imagine someone told you this, but there is a fairly recent episode of How to Renovate a Chateau where Anna refinishes a tub. She did show the products used too. Good luck with that!

Great video 👍I see a brocante bought unit being made into a vanity unit 😊
@annetowner5447Күн бұрын
Test the tub for lead paint before replacing the tub paint, so you don't accidentally inhale lead paint dust when refinishing it and wear proper protection if needed.

Just a thought about refinishing tubs and tile. Epoxy coating can make everything like new, even though it stinks for a few days. It could be a quick fix if you can find that service in France, and IF you can continue to live with the current configuration of the bath room

Leslie- For your vanity, get an old dresser or sideboard from a brocante and convert to vanity!! Tub refinishing: Chateau channels "Growing in France" and "How to renovate a chateau without killing your partner" have re-enameled porcelain tubs.

I would think adapting a old cabinet from a brocant for the bathroom would give the unique vibe you are looking for?

Rob too right buddy that was complicated about the non-profit and the current Visa restrictions in France, how do you overcome the Visa issues? This would solve a couple of issues, food for thought, thinking about that better head down to the Au Pettit Bangcois in Bauge en Anjou for dinner with Lesley 🎄😇🙏🏰

I love the tub and a antique vanity would be beautiful. I read a similiar article about Goodwill thats why I don't donate to them.

We do take staff every session, usually 3-5 "adults" and 4 graduate assistants from previous years. The staff have included 4 of us on the board so far. Leslie and I direct the program, so we recruit staff, and for the most part we've gone with folks we know and have seen in action.

I’m with you Leslie on modern looking boring! You can’t beat traditional or as I like to call it classic. Steal of a deal on the lanterns! I love bargain shopping.
