Well if the protesters had worked harder at school and joined the sciences instead of media studies, then they could actually be a part of developing more sustainable technologies instead of just pursuing "celebrity" and expecting everyone else to do the hard work. I mean, there's nothing wrong with doing the same dance to the same snippet of music every day of your life and calling it a "job", but anyone who does has no business telling anyone else what they should do with their lives.

@@garethbusby438 Sweetie, I don't read the Daily Mail, I've just spent my life studying, with a fair portion of that time dedicated to sustainable technologies, and it royally pisses me off to see these narcissistic navel gazers who know nothing and have learned nothing disrupting society because they think they know better. It's clear to me that we have a problem. We have given these kids the softly softly approach, and it's raised a generation of people with no respect or dignity. I vote that it's time to bring back the good old clip round the ear, if nothing else, it teaches respect.

It’s more about the little sympathy they showed to people, trying to get to life saving help or an appointment they needed to attend. Doing this was always going to piss more people off than motivate them to spread your message. I agree that it’s something that needs to change. It certainly needs more positive media coverage. But most protesters were stuck up, middle class pensioners who had 0 sympathy for anybody. Regardless of what they needed to do that day or how important it was.

He’s not the funniest or smartest comic around today but he missed a chance to add to the message that drilling for oil is killing the planet. Regardless of the protests, they aren’t the only ones who are worried about the future. In many ways this action group have turned people off from the whole issue. They sucked up all the publicity and it’s only been negative from the mainstream. But it would have been nice if Rob had made better jokes and a better message.
