"In this first volume of my CAGED Pentatonic Series, we’ll examine the popular minor pentatonic scale in a new way, exploring how it fits into the CAGED chord system. This will break you out of a lead playing rut, eliminating any gaps of scale knowledge that you may have on the neck.
By looking at examples of minor pentatonic phrasing specifically based on each CAGED minor chord shape, you’ll gain an understanding of how to create melodic solos in any key, anywhere on the fretboard, with a new found confidence.
I'll take you through practice concepts that will improve your phrasing, such as utilizing 'limitations' 'not starting on the 1' and 'repetition,' as well as learning ways to combine shapes and incorporate a tension note, the spicy b5.

Hey Rob What level is this aimed at ? I have bought so many courses only to get lost by some flashy guitarist demonstrating the lick then you have to sit with the half speed to learn a few bars before getting disheartened and giving up. The difficulty usually starts at 7 then straight to 10 no incriminating stages to have wins. I’m an intermediate guitarist but a late beginner with lead playing.

Hi Brad, thanks for asking. I would say late beginner is about right. Some knowledge of CAGED may be helpful but I do address that and give an overview near the beginning. The course has a live comments section so when working through it, if students have questions they can post and I will give guidance based on the lesson they are asking about. Hope that's helpful. Thanks for asking! This course is based on playing lead derived from the CAGED shapes. My Truefire CAGED courses were rhythm based, so no overlap. Hope that helps.
