So Gronk still possessed the incredible hands and enormous catch radius. He could still block like a tackle. Still ran deceptively clean routes that allowed him to separate, but what a lot of Tampa fans don't realize is that Gronk was physically a step or two slower at that point in his career (and was still an absolutely monster tight end). But you can't understate what an incredible athlete Gronk was.

I wish Gronk wouldn't have gotten hurt & missed 5 games his 2nd year with Tampa. He was well on his way to having 1,100 yards 10 TDs but he got hurt after a hot start he had like 4 TD through the first few games. And then they tried bringing him back too soon before the bye, and it set him back and missed more games. He still finished with over 800 yards in just 12 games! They probably would've gone on to win another 💍 that year if Godwin doesn't get injured, and AB retiring mid game vs the Jets.

I'm glad Brady & Gronk got out of New England At the end and were able to show they could do it without Bill. providing more evidence that they are the GOATs of their positions. Brady for sure, and Gronk has great argument for best all around TE in his prime 4 x All-Pro who was also the best blocker among the top TEs So I'm glad there's another fan base that can help carry the torch for them in the coming years when these kids want to say Mahomes and or Kelce are the best ever. They are definitely both all-time greats already but they aren't in Brady and Gronks neighborhood.

Been a Patriots fan since the early 90s and followed Brady to Tampa , it was so great to see gronk play without arm braces and leg braces and looking like a bionic man. Guess " genius" Belichick wasn't the only way. Greatest tightend ever can afford to miss a practice here and there if it means he's healthy for game day. I always believed it was 80% Brady 20% Belichick and the last 4 years has cemented it my opinion, Brady has a Superbowl and a couple more playoff wins while Belichick has ZERO playoff wins .

Gronk will be back. I don’t believe he’s retiring at all. This is just a ploy for him to avoid training camp. He needs at least 2 more months to rest his body; rib and sternum injuries are no joke. He will be back eventually to contribute to the Bucs’ playoff push, and hopefully a run to the Super Bowl as well.
