Patrick swayze is one of the few actors who were able to pull off being a dancer and being a tough guy and being both great at both parts

He’s the only actor I can think of….maybe Marlon Brando, who was equally loved by tough guys and romanticist women. A lot of guys that were heart throbs tend to be pretty boys who are fragile…Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, New Kids On The Block, etc. Swayze was a heart throb who was also a badass.

I kinda agree that he was never considered a real life "badass". Even after being great in Pulp Fiction, no one would think that was anything other than a character on the screen. You weren't going to ever imagine Travolta going skydiving 3 times, surfing in the roughest riptides and then racing Harleys all before dinner. Nah, not Danny Zuko.

Jack Arnsick Lol Great also! I give the edge to Farley/Swayze because Farley was new to SNL that year (1990) and I had no idea what to expect from him so it definitely caught me off guard. The Matt Foley sketch as mentioned above was fantastic as well but Farley had been on SNL for a few years so I already knew what a comic beast he was. @@randolphpinkle4482 nah this is one of those ones you’ll understand when you’re older, if you mature. Sex should compliment a relationship, but it shouldn’t be the primary component. The primary component should be the emotional connection two partners share. That connection is formed through life experiences and maturity. No matter who a 20 year old is, she will never have the same life experiences that a 50 year old has. It’s not possible. When an older person dates a younger person, the relationship is always built on sex. Always. I’m older now and have friends who have chosen this path, and the common denominator in all their relationships is the embarrassment they feel and show when their partner acts her age. But they stay in the relationship for the sex. And the common thread to all of them is the lack of fulfillment they have in their relationship. The only thing that keeps them and their partner together is his money, and her young body. They don’t love each other for their minds, their shared experiences, or their maturity. They love each other for fleeting things. Why do you think Leonardo keeps dumping his girls when they turn 25? An interesting life experience I’ve had has been working in insurance and getting to speak with hundreds of thousands of people over the years. And the older men who marry younger women all end up with many divorces by the time they’re 70, and usually they’re alone throughout their 70s and 80s. This has been a pattern I have seen remain true through conversations with hundreds of men like this.

My wifes Father (RIP) was a gaffer on the Youngblood shoot. My wife was about 16 years old at the time and Rob Lowe was idolized by most teenage girls at the time. She begged her Dad to meet him on set, and he did set it up. Rob ended up being a conceited jerk which was disappointing... come to think of it, it's probably why her Dad arranged the meeting ...lol! My wife also got to meet the lesser known Patrick Swayze that day and was very accommodating and friendly. Patrick spent the time to ask her about her life and was so considerate. That day she let go of her Rob Lowe crush and immediately became a Patrick Swayze fan.

Everyone seems to forget he was in Red Dawn ..... that was during the height of the cold war and it was always a fear of my generation that we were going to war with Russia .... so great movie. Perhaps not the best acting, but the movie was great ... and Swayze was the man in that movie.

My favorite part of Road House is when the guy comes after Dalton with a giant Bowie knife, Dalton dodges or blocks it a few times then kicks him with his arms crossed, and it cuts to an outside shot of the guy flying head-first out the window like he just got ejected in a high speed crash. Classic 80's cheese
