That's just the way Stephen's show is miced and mixed, you'll notice they audience reactions always sound further away than typical live shows, even when there's a "loud" reaction it sounds far or quieter than normal.

When I was 30 I had a large brain tumor cut out of my head, I couldn't walk or really do much of anything by myself. During this time is when I discovered Always Sunny and I got to say it really made that miserable time enjoyable. To this day it remains one of my favorites. Thank you so much cast and crew of Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

i think the laughs are so spared and quiet bc the audience is really interested in what he has to say... he throws jokes into his speech so naturally and without even thinking about it that it takes a second to realize he’s even told a joke, it’s just so natural. i felt bad when i first watched this bc i thought the audience just didnt find him funny, but i think theyre really listening to him and enthralled with what he’s saying instead of just watching to be entertained.

His inner-tension and insecurities throughout are so great to watch and when he finally comes out to his dad....not only comes out but continues on after his dad walks out of the room....it's just beautiful! I was touched by the gesture of that episode. It was apparently RM's love letter to his moms, brothers and LGBT friends, but it made no sense in terms of the show. Mac would never do anything CLOSE to that. It struck me as kind of self-indulgent and showboaty.

@@MikeM-uy6qp I do agree, or at least think I do based on my understanding....it definitely seems like as the show continues on their true personalities are becoming those of the characters and, although I'm very much a lefty and agree with most of their opinions, it doesn't feel true to the show or at least what the show was/what made it great. I know it's one of the two shows that makes Hulu worth it to me and I don't watch must beyond season 8 or 9 and even those aren't entirely enjoyable to me. Still one of the greats tv-wise!

I did not know about Rob's background. The season finale where he did the dance routine coming out to his dad in prison was surprisingly touching and got me choked up even though I'm straight. Given his background, it makes sense why he wanted to do that scene and why it actually came across as so passionate.

It wasn't actually a joke when he said that the ripped version was a miserable existence. He's explained this in several interviews and i'm sure he's tired of talking about it. Being ripped is a 24 hour a day JOB where you have to work out when you're exhausted and eat foods that taste like nothing. It SUCKS

Definitely. Being at that abnormal level of musculature and leanness requires ridiculous measures. Unless you get paid and receive all the professional help to get there, you won't get there. Steroids also help.

This guy is an intellectual's - with a sense of humor - intellectual. I greatly respect and admire him; you can tell he has an intelligent, creative, methodical, and prolific mind. No wonder the audience was quiet; you listen when someone like him speaks. Too bad it seemed like they didn't get him though.

@@JacaboBlanco Colbert's problem is he spent over a decade interviewing people behind a satirical lens in the Colbert Report and Daily Show. He was able to say things he wouldn't normally feel like saying to guests because it was a satire and he was playing a character. That skill doesn't always translate to genuine interviews and he comes off kinda boring because of it. I didn't expect his run on The Late Show to be just like Colbert Report but I was hoping he'd still have some of that comedy/journalistic edge but it's mostly gone from what I've seen.

@@vSupermanv That's just the way Stephen's show is miced and mixed, you'll notice they audience reactions always sound further away than typical live shows, even when there's a "loud" reaction it sounds far or quieter than normal. Our ears are also more used to fake applause than you'd think. I think Stephen just tries to keep it more organic and natural, they could easily fix it by micing it differently but I guess they don't care lol.

It’s literally his show. He’s the creator of the entire concept, the pilot and a vast majority of the scripts. Glenn and Charlie were executive producers alongside him because he’s awesome and made sure it would be “their” show as well. He wasn’t remotely selfish in a creative sense and understood as writers (let alone the character actors themselves since there was no money) they also reserved the right to determine what the though was or wasn’t.

like what @Dave P said. being skinny doesnt always mean healthy but it's less to worry about than diabetes and heart attacks, my top biggest fears. im 4'11 and weight 180 and im sure not happy and that's not because people r making fun of my body, it's cuz my body just feels like shit in general from all the extra mass no matter how hard I work to get rid of it. so stop trying to tell everyone to just do you and be happy. its pretty shitty advice in the long run once u realize it

I’m a straight guy from Texas so I grew up around a lot of gay shaming but not as bad as you could imagine, I’ve never had a problem myself with homosexuality. Never thought much about it, in my opinion as long as you’re not impeding someone else’s life or putting people in danger. I don’t think it’s anyones business who you love or are loved by. That being said my favorite episode of sunny is when Mac comes out to his father, I was expecting classic sunny narcissism but the emotional dance really spoke volumes to me. Not as a character for him but a message being projected to world from a good heart.
