He wanted clout he hadn't earned to make important decisions as a GM. What probably happened is that Jeanie Buss, foolishly, gave Magic the position with plenty of power to make decisions. Then she watched him not show up to work and make a bunch of stupid decisions. Then Magic is like, "I need to make this very important decision now." And she was like, "Uhm, let's maybe get some other people to sign off on your great ideas." Magic lost his credibility because of his poor work ethic and poor decisions. Naturally. Then he whined about how he can't lead without the power to make decisions. Nah, you had the power but showed yourself unworthy of it. Jeanie is to blame for hiring him and for not firing him once she lost faith. She should have known he would throw her and the Lakers under the bus, which is exactly what he did. So all you people praising Magic, must love him more than you love the Lakers -- because he basically just butt fucked them.

Perhaps eventually things would panned out for the Lakers.....However, I can't see any other reasons other than it's coming from a bitter root... Someone should have these two gentlemen meet, and iron out all this mess before Magic opens his damn mouth again... If magic felt undermined, whether intellectually or otherwise, by Pelinka. They should sit down and clean up things in the presence of Boss Lady. I know that, Magic is intellectually inferior to Pelinka.
