Personally, I think being a parent is the last perspective and way that he approached this. Nobody knows what his real feelings are. Without dad, no one is paying any attention to EJ. But even though EJ was out creating all of the headlines with his actions, the headlines really weren’t about EJ. They had everything to do with Magic as a legend and a brand. That there should always be respected and considered while out in public.
