I came back to watch this and some of the things Magic and Rob shared in this press conference reflected on how the Lakers are back into being champions. Business is one thing but being clear on the values that the new management at this time wanted to manifest has finally come into fruition. I think the first phase was signing someone from Klutch Sports was probably one of the clear vision that they were trying to explain here by taking KCP and give him an opportunity to play for the Lakers and display great leadership, experience working with the Lakers brand, etc. have planted a seed which enabled the Lakers getting LBJ. Without having that clear plan or strategy wouldn't have placed a big foundation on how to get the team back into contention for NBA championship. I really like this signing and I really like how smart and resilient Rob is despite the backlash, the scrutiny, the back rumors that plagued this team before and after Magic left. I just like how open these guys are in terms of pitching in ideas and gathered tons of information to make the best decision for the team. I just wish the fans will be able to celebrate and appreciate what these two gave for the franchise. I'm aware that Magic threw Rob under the bus after this but they put it behind them and I think that what makes this organization work is being able to put the brand forward by embodying the values that they set from day one. If they didn't do that then none of this would've happened.

Also it feels like all these young guys are being evaluated right now and if they don't perform they will be traded this off-season...they weren't drafted by this regime

Lakers are getting VETERAN Free Agents now, so glad he mentioned needing improved talent. The coach will become less of a factor. Vets will run the show.
