Rob Thomas is one of modern music’s most compelling and commercially successful artists. For twenty years, he has been the frontman and primary composer for alternative rock band Matchbox Twenty, leading the quintet to multiplatinum success over the course of four albums and hits that include “Push,” “3AM,” “Bent,” “If You’re Gone,” and “Unwell.”
Thomas’ first solo albums, 2005’s platinum-certified #1 album ‘Something To Be’ and 2009’s ‘cradlesong’ generated the hit singles “Lonely No More,” “This is How A Heart Breaks,” “Her Diamonds” and “Someday. ’Something to Be’ became the first album by a male artist from a rock/pop group to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 since the chart had debuted. With ‘cradlesong’, he made history once again as the only male artist with multiple #1 hits at Adult Top 40, with most #1s by a solo male artist in the chart’s history. Thomas released his 3rd solo album ‘The Great Unknown' in 2015.

My wife of 37 years and soulmate just recently passed after a 7 year battle with cancer. And it's the most heart-wrenching pain I've ever endured by a mile, worse, amazingly, than the loss of our adult daughter five years ago. Family, friends, members of our church and others have all stepped up to try to help me. I'm forever grateful to them. But along with them, the music of Rob Thomas is the one other thing that has been comforting in these incredibly long days. I even had the Praise band play "Now Comes the Night" at her funeral. Best singer/songwriter of our time.

We were drawn from the weeds We were brave like soldiers Falling down under the pale moonlight You were holding me Like someone broken And I couldn't tell you, but I'm telling you now Just let me hold you while you're falling apart Just let me hold you and we'll both fall down Fall on me Tell me everything you want me to be Forever with you forever in me Ever the same We would stand in the wind We were free like water Flowing down Under the warmth of the sun Now it's cold, and we're scared And we've both been shaken Hey, look at us, man This doesn't need to be the end Just let me hold you while you're falling apart Just let me hold you and we'll both fall down Fall on me, tell me everything you want me to be Forever with you Forever in me Ever the same Call on me I'll be there for you and you'll be there for me Forever it's you Forever in me Ever the same You may need me there To carry all your weight But you're no burden, I assure You tide me over With a warmth I'll not forget But I can only give you love Fall on me, tell me everything you want me to be Forever with you Forever in me Ever the same Call on me I'll be there for you and you'll be there for me Forever it's you Forever in me Ever the same Forever with you Forever in me Ever the same Ever the same

If I could only have someone whom truly loved me, hold me as I cried over losing my beloved mother. To be viewed as someone "Truly loved," instead of, 'as a Burden.' I'm sure my heart would have 'healed' so much better, after losing my sweet sister with Down's Syndrome in May, 2018; and now my Beautiful Mother, one month ago. It will certainly, NEVER STOP HURTING 'NOW.' 😒😥💔🥺😞

As someone who suffers from an auto immune disease, similar to Lupus, some days are horrible. The pain, stiffness, and the anger you can't do the same as other people consumes you. My husband cannot understand how bad some days are, but he love me. He stands by me when I hurt so much that moving is a challenge. He holds me when I cry because the pain is unbearable. He carry's my weight, plus his, around the home when things are bad. I feel bad when I am limited in what activities I can do. He sweeps, mops, does dishes, chases our 2 year old around the house, lets me sleep when normal people are awake, and so forth. Some days he gets mad because of my situation and gets upset he has to do so much. Even in those times he still loves me. He loves me, ever the same, as when we first became a serious couple. Thanks to my dear hubby, D.M. Love always, P.M.

Im 14 and guess what? i cried when i saw the girl when she was gonna jump. out of sorrow. than i saw the dove, with the message. It stopped her from jumping, and that was the most hartwarming thing i have ever seen. Than she jumped... i was soo sad, it was like a kid learning there mom just died. But than she turned into a dove and flew, free, like she was lifted of everything. I feel soooo great i cried out of sorrow and joy. thank you Rob Thomas, you will be part of my life no matter what.

Ever the Same" is a ballad that Rob Thomas wrote for his wife, Marisol Maldonado. For several years, she battled a serious illness that doctors were unable to identify.According to Thomas, Maldonado was "so frustrated by it that she would keep me at bay because she felt she'd be bringing me down."After one particularly painful day, she cried herself to sleep in his arms.He wrote the song, a promise that he would always be there no matter how tough life got, that evening.Thomas says that "It all stemmed from the line: 'Just let me hold you while I'm falling apart.

I work animal rescue. I first heard this song on the way to a "final goodbye" (euthanasia) of a trusted and loving animal companion. I couldn't help but think how this so spoke to our relationship. Now I play this song at every "goodbye" for my loving charges....it never gets easier but this song helps in the passage from what is now to what will be. Thank you Rob Thomas for your exceptional gift of verse.

You loved your wife and stood by her through years of struggle I dedicate this to my daughter Alyssa who fought like hell diagnosed with a very aggressive form of RA at 19. I lost her at 30. She was my heart..She was the most genuine loving person..helped everyone without thinking about herself...I love you baby girl forever

@Robertkellythomas__ how am I doing. Depends who you ask. I have apparently confused someone today. It's been an ongoing struggle. I'm not sure who is more confused on a given day. It's been an ongoing process for 10 months now. Some days create music, and other days bring noise. I could be my own delay to what is overdue. If reality seems unrecognizable to what I know, how do I come to the conclusion it's a delusion someone has put much effort into. And as it is in many circumstances, it's coming down to a figure I don't have. It revolves around and involves a music man. What I don't have is creating setbacks, frustration, miscommunication and upset. I keep asking myself, can this actually be. If it's not a real honest offer,, it's a learning process. I still have so little trust. This is going to define something about me. It's been a long year. Thanks for the interest again.
