Very good video. Looking through the tempering affixes was the first thing I did on PTR. My one criticism is of Utility manuals which in my opinion is somewhat lacking for the Barb (not sure on other classes). Would it be OP if all the skill size affixes moved from weapon onto utility instead? I feel like Utility should definitely have all the options related to berserking duration, max duration, vulnerable duration, vulnerable procs, and skill sizes

I seen your lucky hit hota barb. but I still like the overpower one. With the hota size increase maxed at 100%, what would you pair with the other 2 or 3 weapons besides close damage.

Elemental surge is also good way to make frenzy builds work with berserking. btw.. they stack right? i can have two of the same on different slots?

The size of skills with tempering will be tuned down for sure. Or maybe limited to a number of tempering to be used.

I can see them going crazy with tempering in the future, like adding Unique tempering. 1.) + to all skills 2.) + to damage absorb 3.) Double projectiles or even change the way a skill works, like wirlwind now sucks all enemies within x radius I think the possibilities are endless with tempering

If they made the skill damage scale the same as the duration for earthquake and flay it would be fine. If it did that flay would be a bigger damage rend once you rupture since it would be doing it over like minutes then remove the passives.

There’s a few temper things I’m wondering about: - The quakes do less damage on the ground, but increasing their duration scales rumble glyph, that’s x10% per earthquake with no cap on the glyph - you need to look at iron maelstrom again. Especially the “get 40 fury on cast” tempering. I bet a single maelstrom can generate 750 fury at least, that’s a lot of dust devils. You can reduce ground stomp cooldown on other slots so you don’t need maelstrom cdr tempers. kick is definitely one of the best skills in the game now. It’s been getting a lot of indirect buffs in s3 (ring of the ravenous adds a weapon swap, rend procs), and it’s gonna be spammable with season 4. Anyone thinking of playing rend should seriously consider swapping out for kick and just proc the rends.

Tempering and Masterworking seems to outweigh even Harlequin Crest and The Grandfather. It seems to me that S4 dramatically reduces the necessity of Uber Uniques maybe even to wean players off of them, and I don't think that's a bad thing. The days of wearing 5+ Uniques appear over, once again, not a bad thing. I didn't have near the amount of time testing on the beta, but what I saw was basically Paingorger and Ramaladni's seemed the most viable Uniques. Currently The Grandfather followed by Harlequin Crest were must haves and every other Uber Unique or Unique is in the fine print of maybe could be useful. Thanks a lot for the very informative video.

Blizzard are currently reviewing adding Tempering to Uber Uniques + stat reworks. That should help address the power disparity.

I have a question. Rob, with all the changes coming to the game, does that make previous characters' uniques and legendaries redundant? If so, we just delete them?

Is there a reason Barbs get a Tempering recipe with only 2 choices where both are usable for the same build? I think they should give barbs a few more armor pieces, having 3 times the amount of tempering on weapons (2 double + 2 single vs. 2 single / 1 double) clearly isn't enough.

They shouldn't nerf Barb but they should buff other classes instead. Why Barb is so OP? Because he carries 4 weapons! Which means 4 offensive weapons stats, 6 gems, and 4 aspects. No other class in D4 has such an advantage. The closest is Rogue with 3 weapons, 4 gems, and 3 aspects and that's why this class seems to be well balanced. Can you imagine your Sorc, Necro or Druid build with 4 weapons (stats), 6 gems, and 4 aspects? Yeah...

Other classes are fine. It is just barb that needs a nerf. Those 4 weapons are just part of the problem. For Season 4 i think some other nerfs will be needed tho. Necro will do gazillions as well and will need a nerf. If you keep chasing what the best class does you get into an infinite loop making the game unbalanced forever.

dont remove the "damage while tuesdays" options, if its something people might want. Its not forced on us, and could be viable for certain builds.

@@MrFrmartin good stuff! I just want archetypes and a focus on type of damage or skill tag group. And the affix applies to at least 3 skills on your hotbar that have synergy. 1 button gameplay that when I hit FPS games for.
