i like s4 but skipped s3, so as i will skip s5. its ridiculous to think they can let us grind for years to find an uber when a season only lasts 3 month. i hate the idea of seasons but i like diablo. im born 1985 and played d1 and d2. either stop the season system and let us grind for unlimited paragorn and increase lvl cap to 200… then you can let us grind forever for an uber unique… or if you stick to seasons then give us feasible ways to get any uber in each season. period

Paladin is the only class that makes sense in the expansion. The new zone in the expansion is Nahuntu, the entire lore of the zone was that zakarum had Nahuntu as their seat of power and they had Paladins weeding out corruption in the area. Mephesto corrupted the Zakarum and filled the zone with demons leading to the zones conflict. The fact that Rod Ferguson saying paladin didnt fit into the theme it made me rage a little bit.

Paladin's orders exist everywhere. The seat of power is Travincal, their influence expanded through Kehjistan to Nahantu. They are Zakarumites, Zakarum is simply their faith/order, its not a place. It's D3's Witch Doctors who comes from Nahantu, D2's Paladin are WESTMARCH knights... they are from another CONTINENT, like Akkarat himself. What were you raging about? You dont know anything, just paraphrasing reddit/twitter/youtubers sentiment.

@@kahaneck i never said they didnt exist everywhere and I wasn't raging. Diablo lore has nahuntu as a "seat of power" for zakarum. My argument is that when rod Ferguson said that paladins didnt fit into nahuntu which is why they decided to not do paladins in the expansion. The whole story about the zone is that mephesto corrupted the Zakarum order in the area. Paladins probably fit best with the lore if Nahuntu, certainly they fit better than a brand new class with no established lore in the area.

The problem we have with class balance is they're trying nerf skills that are the most popular while trying to buff skills that are not so popular, but we still end up with less diversity overall due to them going from one extreme to another with balance , especially due to barbs continuing to get buffs in most skills, since their idea was to bring all the classes up to barbs level but they keep missing the mark.

@endorphinADMIN I don't see why it would make the game "boring." If you can play your favorite on everyclass while each one of them being S or S+ Tier, then you'll have a ton of fun. Eitherway its just the way it's said in the video, that "So we can all have fun," that's important. I had no choice playing the windshear build on my druid before the patch where pulverize got buffed and all, because it was the only decent build out there for druid. Before that, I had a lot of fun on the shred build but wasn't strong enough to push the pit sadly, so there stopped the fun really.

It's just the end-game that is boring. Once you're geared and have your ubers, there's nothing left outside of pits or praying for GA gear that's an upgrade to your current stuff. The combat is good, but a lot of aspects of the game are still pretty rough.

The problem with the Sorc nerfs is simple. They aren’t doing massive damage to start with. The “change” to ice armor, given the state of the class in the first place, makes no sense. The class already has to choose between survivability and damage, but scaling in damage doesn’t add up. That being said tho I still love the class. The skills and powers are fun to level with, and the effects are cool.

I genuinely wish more people were privy to how out of touch these higher popular content creators(NOT talking about Rob to be clear) who merely only check in when it's convenient for them to farm hate engagement, actually are. Revisionist history is a very real thing. When the original beta shipped, MOST of the sentiment around the game was largely positive (bc ppl thought it was a great STARTING point to build on). Launch was also largely received overwhelmingly positive. It wasn't until those patch notes dropped for season 1 where it ALL fell off a cliff. the season of the nerf. where the highlight was Rods colonoscopy joke. This guy said with a straight face that season 2 was a miss. How credible is anything past that point when you don't even have the community sentiment accurate? It's the same thing with Asmon when he swears through his teeth that the devs have listened to literally NOTHING...until season 4. lol. Like there's NOTHING wrong with not keeping in touch with something you don't like. Literally nothing. But don't come around pretending like you have a finger on the pulse whenever you decide it's convenient for you to farm engagement. You talk to damn near anyone that keeps up with D4. In one year the sentiment is fairly consistent. Even team, nothing but roses. Keep up the good work. Odd team...what in the actual fuck are you doing over there? lol.

My god, I can't stand the majority of these type of content "creators". The thing about carry over to the next run is it totally invalidates the lesser chest rewards, and removes some of the incentive to do the best you can on the highest teir you can in order to get the big box. That being said the big box needs to be an amazing reward, not three garbage items

Disagree on buff/nerf debate. The gap is too large between classes, not sure if its a bias making you think this way because lets be honest, if it was a case of buffing classes up it would be 4/6 classes being buffed up to barbarian/rogue level. Which seems counter intuitive. Bring damage numbers down, buff the skill tree and stop trying to patch issues with aspects. I also personally think some unique effects need to be moved to the paragon boards to make them more exciting and interesting and transformative for specific builds

So you just want guaranteed unique aspects which can be required in paragon. No that's a terrible idea as if you can make any op build you want with just paragon nodes will kill retention as players will be finished with builds too quickly and get bored.

@@barrymacdonald3439 90% of uniques aren't worth using. Nor are they hard to get. By the time I hit 100 and get all my paragon points for this "op" system I've got 4-5 copies of every class unique sitting in my stash. Opportunity cost is a thing, getting that unique effect on your paragon board would come at the cost of whatever paragon you're replacing. It wouldn't make anyone op, nor would your build be finished any sooner. You could give necros black rivers effect for free AND keep the replacement paragon. Corpse explosion would still be trash, but at least it wouldn't be aids to play.

I'd kind of like that if an uber dropped while you were doing group play that you could trade it to someone who was in group with you when it dropped. I play with a friend quite a bit and of the 4 ubers we've both gotten, all but one of them was something that the other one wanted, it was the right uber but dropped for the wrong person.

The PTR for season 5 was so buggy because it was played in a version of the game that was from before Season of the Construct went live. If you went into the wardrobe they had placeholder assets for transmogs that released during that season.

Makes me wonder if there's some kind of fundamental flaw in the way they develop things. It's like the team that just had finished up season 3 took that build of the game and started building season 5 right on top of it. So all the hot fixes that were released throughout season 3, to fix all the bugs with it, plus all the changes with season 4, plus all the hot fixes with season 4, none of that is reflected in the season 5 PTR build. Do I know that's actually the case? No, but your comment makes me think that could be what is going on and why we are seeing so many fucking bugs all over the place that were previously squished in the live game by the way

Diablo IV's main problem is that it's boring. Grinding the same limited pool of content over and over again isn't fun, and the only people who would enjoy it are hardcore loot gambling addicts... I say "would" because D4 loot sucks ass, so its hard for me to see how it would satisfy anyone. With D2, you'd play through the campaign, and then either play the same campaign again with a new character or on a higher difficulty level. This works because the progression through the campaign naturally provides variety and a constant goal to work towards (a goal that isn't something meaningless like grind 10,000 seasonal reputation points or whatever), while the campaign depth is deep enough that you don't feel like you are mindlessly repeating the same content. What does D4 do? It throttles the absolute shit out of your progression if you want to play the campaign (you can hit the lvl 50 soft cap easily just by playing through the 1st chapter), taking the fun out of the experience. Or you can skip the campaign and lock yourself into a tiny amount of repetitive and lackluster content... man, I sure do love sitting in one place farming 500 helltide bosses in a row. Or the same 4 boring, grindy Pit bosses again and again and again... This is probably the wrong audience for this comment, but fuck, Path of Exile figured out how to do it right years ago.

I don't understand why the devs are so scared to give us good loot rewards for the endgame content. Pits are just a grind for upgrading gear. They are more fun than nightmares for sure but it should have a lot higher chance for uniques and GA items to drop the higher you go imo. It doesn't look like season 5 will change any of this either. The new mode looks trash to me.

I want the ability to change armor color on mounts, backpack type stuff also maybe weapons so more variety. I have the mount armor sets on a few character armor sets that are matching but look stupid when you cant change the mount armor color but you can on the character. even if they made it match to the color picked the characters armor

The quest line I thought was excellent, in its leveling potential, the amount of loot that dropped, and how many elites were present. Also, you got the special amulet at the end. The event itself needs to be way better.

The shock half the playerbase had when they found out about Seasons and having to start a new character each time. Everyone treated this game like an mmo 🤦‍♂️ I actually haven't had a single bad day with D4 yet, and I've been playing since launch. The worst part about this game for me is the other players. In fact scratch that, other players that I meet *in-game* are great, but the supposed "players" I see commenting online, are some of the most toxic man children I've ever come across. Devs release new patch notes for D4 - and suddenly a sea of sweaty pasty gamers who haven't seen sun light in 2 decades start to gather on the horizon, as they collectively storm all the forums, chat rooms and comment sections, and decide which parts of the game are bad before even playing it, because HuRr DuRr BlIzZaRd BaD D4 BaD

Pits dungeons need higher gold reward. Also farming mats to spawn Ubers is somewhat tedious since you have to rejoin another server to keep farming them.

@rob2628 - The reason we were hoping for something "Different" is that other ARPG's like Lost Ark managed to figure out how to do it WITHOUT resetting. If you've never played it, this is what some of the "quality of life" things they offered that us "dads" were hoping D4 would bring: 1. Campaign skip after you've done the campaign once - they ACTUALLY did it. This was a W. 2. The Ability to boost your next ALT - Diablo still wants you to spend HOURS doing repetitive stuff. This season it was the meta of making a new character, and running straight to helltide hoping others would join for boss fight. then sit there for 2 hours, before you could run capstone solo. Boring AF waste of time 3. NO RESETTING - Lost Ark adds "horizontal" things to do and new bosses every big patch. They also sometimes raise the max level so you have something to grind towards. Why does diablo cap at 100? I have an 8-5 job with 3 kids and a wife and stuff to do around home and I managed to get 4 characters this season to 100. That should not be possible. The reason everyone wants resets is because of bad game design. D2/D2R has seasons, but it more fun running a character in that because it is MONUMENTALLY harder to get to 99. You feel like you always have something do to. In D4, I ran out of things to do. I beat 100 Pits (no incentive to push that further), I beat all tormented bosses, beat lilith, ran helltides 1098701237410938 times, got many uber uniques. So naturally I could use a new season. But our hope was that it was going to have SO MUCH to do, that we didn't want resets. So D4 is so bad with content, we sorta need seasons.

Speaking of the treadmill. People actually like treadmill mechanics. Go into any modern gym and you’ll see folks running on them…when they can run outside for free. (Sure you can make a case for safety, but isn’t that another conversation entirely?)

Treadmills are generally the lesser evil in quest for a reward. Contolled weather, speed, incline and no interruptions in my quest to to have moderately decent hearthealth. Ubers aren't a 'reward' they're just a dophamine hit. One you shouldn't look for if you don't enjoy the process.

they already brought in a version of challenge rifts and a version of echoing nightmares from D3, they might as well just bring in bounties as well. I know we already have whispers, but no one does the blue checkmark quests. just make another mini system that highlights certain blue quests and get a reward as well, be it gems or mats or gold or whatever currency needed in the game. They are already in the game, make them useful in some way

Why not make the mats for internal hordes really hard to find - but when you do it it needs to be REWARDING. I think it is cool that it takes time. But they can of course make it more interesting to play the 40 minutes.

I’m hoping the Spiritborn class will be a cross between Rogue and Sorc. It would be insanely fun if this were the case and to see it out perform all classes but also providing a wide variety of builds. I doubt the devs want to have any other class out-perform Barb though

With Baneful Hearts - there's no reward for spending more than 1, which was extremely bad feeling when you're in a group of 5-6 and it's 1-2 people depositing... why am I spending 2 hearts to get 33% extra loot when I could just be a leech and stand around waiting for other suckers to come and deposit for free. If the loot scaled (higher quantity drops, or higher tier drops) with deposits, you'd have people fighting over who gets to deposit - but they've nerfed the drop rate, and done nothing to supplement it as far as the loot - and that feels bad. Helltides will likely slowly fade into irrelevance again outside of angelbreath.

Well he's a fat white guy who plays a lot of Destiny 2. He has terrible taste when it comes to almost everything in life. I've read enough of his inane articles to determine that's the case with him. He also was writing things at the launch of D4, saying things like seasons shouldn't exist, characters should never need to be re-created or re-leveled up, and that leveling should take a long time because you should only ever have to do it once for your main character, blah blah blah. He legit was expecting Diablo 4 leveling and character progression to be just like in an MMO. That is where Paul has always been wrong. D4 is not an MMO and is nothing like an MMO. It has a few MMO elements, but that's it. The actual true beating heart and soul of an MMO, those elements are not inside Diablo 4. Because it's an ARPG. We can all be glad that Paul has mostly shut up about the game and just let it be. We're all better off for that. He's a moron lol.

I wish the game stopped being about the grind and started adding more content. I LOVED the campaign. The whole reason I bought Diablo IV was because I fell in love with the lore and the story of Diablo II. I learned that Diablo II was about the grind after I did the campaign in Diablo IV and decided to check Reddit to see what people are saying about the game, lol.

There is no season mechanic yet. The infernal hordes come to eternal realm as well and will be a persistent mode, not the season mechanic.

I actually HATE the seasonable concept of D4. I came back for Season 4 but I dont think I can be bothered to create a new character for Season 5. They are going to start doing Seasonal Characters in Division 2 as well so that will end that game for me too.

My issue was there was no variety in unique. The builds were boring. I am ok with different tiers of uniques too but there wasn’t enough. If there is very little to get then it becomes boring.

12:17 the gameplay of the S5 quest was better than the Infernal Hordes. density and elite packs and such were so much better. A larger area to run around and still more enemies.

I'm seeing comments from people saying we need more endgame. I'm kind of tired of all the different things I need to do to keep up. I'm kind of happy ubers will be dropping from helltide chests now too. I find myself looking back to D3's simplicity. The Inferno Horde is very challenging and Engaging when you're playing as a Necro that requires dodging boss moves. But I could imagine standing still ignore all boss moves as a barb could get very boring.

Yeah it can be boring but if it comes down to efficient farming for mats for builds the barb and rogue will be used more as they just complete content faster so if I only have a few hours to play I will build the fastest farmer first then play a build I have fun with. It is a problem but it will not be fixed I feel, blizzard will just make new classes op like barb and rogue to get expansion sales.

They did all the bad, gems max stacks were at 50. In Diablo 3 they could stacked to 100k+ in gem bag. They used the inventory system from 2 should have used 3's inventory system and improved upon it. All the boss mats should stack higher living steel stacks should cap at least 100 not 50 same with blood. Or at the very add a another tab next to consumables and use it for the boss mats. Now that they have pets why can't they auto salvage commons; rares, and epics liked Diablo 3 did. Vendors sell trash ancestral from 450k to 950k rares to epics. They only pay 20k for legendary ancestrals. They used triple the sell cost to actually give players incentive to pick them up.

Even with all of the notes and information, I'm seeing a pattern to play the even seasons and skip the odd ones. Season 2 wasn't too bad. Season 4 was the version of the game we should have had at launch. The goal should be to increase replay value and trying multiple classes/builds like in season 4. Boost lesser utilized builds and paragon board stats. We could use 5 skills and 5 innate perks per skill tree tier, including 10 options within the final tier. Each item type should have a unique weapon (why don't we have unique crossbows, focuses, totems, 1h maces, etc)

They tipped their foot in some MMORPGS features like the open map with interactions with multiple players, but it's like everything Diablo is doing is just half-baked. They just hang into the franchise name. This season was the first one that I went beyond level 15-ish because it was fun leveling and go for the items and uniques. But for me (and I guess a lot of people) the game feels EMPTY right after you finish a build. I got my andariel visage rogue functional, cleared a pit 100 something with ease, I can kill uber lilith. What more can I do? Farm endlessly for small increments just so I can beat the exact same pits that so happen to show that is a number higher? It's so odd to finally have my build completed and feel like "ok... guess I just stop playing" There needs to be more activities and they should take pages from the MMORPGS. One rpg I like played back in the day was Ragnarok. Ragnarok had something called war of emperium: there were maps with castles that clans could enter to fight for a hour. Once the hour ended the clan in possession of the castle would retain it until the next war (it was 2x a week). The castle granted access to some benefits unique to the castle. Something similar would give players a pvp option and a reason to grind and interact. DOesn't even need to be a group/clan thing. Rayman Legends has a post game system that have 4 challenges that all players can do individualy, but your score or time would be matched online and you would receive medals based on your tier, with the top player defining the threshold. By the end of the event you would collect rewards. Diablo could make an hour for players to enter pits chained in a row and your rank would be compared on how many you completed and how many the best player in the world did. You could do it like a pit starting at lvl 90 and increasing a level each time. So many ways. And of course, I could go on with multiple ideas, but any of them would flop if your reward is a chest with 3 items...

Gear Sets are needed for each class Rare but worth the grind. Stats which increase if you have 2, 4 or 6 of the same set.

Even today you could easily have fun making 3 sorcs because there's literally 3 elemental builds that are all viable. Game is just still boring at endgame. Pit runs and helltides get boring fast. Its the same crap over and over. Game needs variety of content. Different stuff to do and not talking about different ways of killing monsters. PROPER crafting systems are needed and im not talking about going to the blacksmith. Actually going out in the world and farming stuff. Like the herbs but doing different activites.D4 i think will never change unless the devs realise they need to TAKE A PAGE OUT OF World of Warcraft and turn it into a MMOARPG.

The person who was responsible for ‘damage on Tuesday, if it’s raining’ is now working on Season 5. I leveled up 3 characters in S4 and then spent hours begging Duriel, ‘please drop an uber. I don’t even care which one it is’. When he finally did, I had my fourth spark for Shako. And now I am…burned out. I don’t think I have heard enough good things about S5 that make me want to start over. It sounds tedious as hell. Oh, and re: balancing….every season there seems to be one ‘favored’ class/build that’s easier to play, and I think that is a good thing. Some players don’t want to be frustrated. The ones who do like more challenge can play a different class. It’s not like this is a competitive game.
