Roban UH-1D flown with DJI FPV, Motionsic BAG and Pro Flight PUMA flight control system

In this latest evolution of an FPV helicopter flown with realistic controls I have addded the Motionsic BAG with DJI FPV to a Roban UH-1D. I pilot the aircraft using the Pro Flight Trainer PUMA flight control setup.
Vibration is always the enemy in rotarywing fpv aircraft...smoother versions to come!

@@kevint9702 This setup is more limited by the flight control power (spektrum) than visuals (DJI). Flight time for the Huey is around 8 minutes with about a 60 second reserve. My original Trex 700e build is good for around 16min.

That is absolutely amazing! I'm definitely going to do that with one of my helicopters. One thing I might suggest and I would probably do is put the small string in front of your windscreen to indicate wind flow left, right and straight) so you you can yaw exact trim of your tail, just like on real helicopters.

Thank you! Your gimbal is a great setup! I added a spring to remove play from the tilt axis (not in this video) which helped with stability.

Looks like your blade-grips might be a bit too tight.....that can quite often be the cause of vibration, if everything is nicely balanced and tracked.😊

@@johnstosh6658 Weight and balance is always important on any aircraft, model or full sized. Most 450 sized machines have battery placement flexible enough for a camera system. Just make sure to check the center of gravity

i try it on my BEll 206 450 flywing, with dji camera(no head track) that is very difficult and scary , i fly in FPv drone since many year but in helico its very difficult to apréciate the distence with the ground, i stop it trying for moment too easy to crash same in Att mode , only gps mode is acceptable but not fun

Neither, this is as manual as you can get. I even tuned the tail rotor for the need to input torque corrections

always wanted to do this, but then got scared of crashing my 700 size heli into someone and killing them. So I ended up selling it and never doing this. Aren't you afraid something will go wrong and that 800 size heli will lurch forward and chop your head off? what losing orientation while flying and crashing in to a baby carriage? :) anyway, looks fun :)

I have incorporated a throttle hold into the design and maintain a safe distance away from myself and other people. In addition I fly on private property or AMA field with at least one visual observer. So no....not afraid.
