Just found your channel, and I love the 'Get to the Choppa' title. I hear Arnold every time I hear that phrase. You have built something I started on years ago and then life got in my way. Now I'm retired and everyday is Saturday. I have started my cockpit FPV project again using new technology. I will be watching your vids to see how you did your setup to see if I can learn something. Thanks for sharing your awesome setup.

I was curious how you wired up your air unit? I’m having trouble recording through my V2 goggles.
@lwright292Ай бұрын
It’s the original Air Unit and V1 goggles. The air unit is powered by a dedicated 4 cell pack. The video is the on board dvr.

How far can you fly with these? I take it like a mile? Would be cool if you could do 10-20 miles with these.

hello, I saw you video, thanks for the good explanation, I have question: if for example in this system I mount only the pedal + the collective or the pedal + the handle the system works in any way or all the 3 element must be connected all? Thanks.
@lwright2923 ай бұрын
The way I have connected the controls you can hook up any control in any combination.

I love that the passion for aviation was your fuel for this project! You developed some really great ideas! I was dreaming of flying RC helis since I was a kid and I finally made this dream come true when I was 60 years old. Now I am really crazy for flying my helis almost every day. So impressive that the training with your Puma Pro flight trainer was giving you the possibility to hove on your first attempt! Congratilations and high respect!

Wow, this looks like big fun! I love the sound of the rotor blades in turns and circles! The footage from the inside looks so so much like from the full size heli. And of course to see Arnold beside you... Great video, thanks!

Brilliant project, though the approach - physically connecting the radio cct board and the control sticks - seems a little old school. Would it not be preferential to use the buddy-box connection, with USB to Serial data conversion via an Arduino microprocessor?
@lwright2923 ай бұрын
The original concept actually involved a Raspberry Pi. I decided that I didn’t want to trust a 5 ft rotor in the sky to my programming skills😂

Amazing setup! I just finished my Roban UH1-N Marines. It was a challenge but I love it! Questions: Where did you get the pilot figure, (not the Arnold head or servo setup)? Also what scale do you think these 800 size Hueys are? I calculated between 1/6 and 1/7. Thanks.
@lwright2925 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! The figure is a weird scale that is inconsistent throughout the body. I followed John Salt’s lead and designed/printed the torso. I then fitted a GI Jane flight suit and Arnold head from Amazon. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJ2bl4F4j9OVgrcsi=9KLou9B3MgT-IIJV Pretty happy with the results
@brendanmassett58365 ай бұрын
Hahaha, A Lot of work for a pilot figure. I saw John Salt's vid too. That is too complicated for me, I'll keep looking. Thanks for the inspiration to set up an FPV! Amazing work you did!!
