Great review, really well made upload. I want one (or two) of those bikes. *_/Thumbs up/_* Yours was the first video listed when i typed in the bike model here. My car has 14 inch wheels, a double decker bus has 22,5 inch wheels. The Scottish roads are shocking and cartoonish. You could put a goldfish in a pothole and it would still be there a week later. (i haven’t tried) Thanks for the Engwe e26 try out review video.

Fantastic review which I really enjoyed watching. I'm on the cusp of ordering this bike but I worry about the support from Engwe with their latest awful trust pilot reviews. Also, where would you get the bike serviced? I have phoned my two local bike shops and they both said they wouldn't service an Engwe bike.

Hi and thank you, we have never had to deal with Engwe after sales so we can’t comment on that, regarding service I would do it myself as there are videos on KZbin showing you, the bikes are really good to ride and loads of fun, we wish you luck whatever you decide to purchase 👍

Can you turn the restriction on and off easily? Like enable and disable the throttle?

It’s just a cable that you can undo to disconnect it, or change it in the settings

I'm in a similar position and this bike is definitely on my shortlist however I'm not overly concerned about parts support apart from maybe the eventuality of needing a new battery. Their website, though does list a variety of batteries for their bikes so it would appear they support their products quite well in that respect. I think I'd rather go with a firm like Engwe than some other, lesser known brands not least because they have a decade behind them of making Electric bikes which is As for the usual consumables like brake pads, chain, cassette ect they will be easily sourced fairly generic off the shelf items that wouldn't be expensive to replace or even upgrade as and when they wear out so I wouldn't worry about those.

That design of bell is for directional amplification (phew), a bit like cupping your hands round your mouth or using one of those cone shaped loudspeakers. So it should be pointed straight ahead (or as near as is possible) so as pedestrians/other cyclists can hear it better, rather than up at an angle. Really like the bike though, if I didn't already have an bike, I'd be giving the Engwe E26 serious consideration.

If the silver car stopped suddenly while you’re doing 30 mph following that close you would never stop in time. With the speed it can do on the throttle it is really a moped. Food delivery guy bike

@philipalton - ‘moped’ means ‘mobile pedestrian’ if i recall correctly, so all bikes are those. I think the man knows how to work the vehicle. I have never gone a motorbike, ever, there is more chance of me hitting that silver vehicle, from north of the border.

Interesting vblog. I'm not sure I would feel safe on a mountain bike on the roads anymore. I have fancied a Jorvik Tricycle, though the electric powered on. They do a mountain bike version of that. It has chunky wheels 🎉
