The guitar you want to be buried with. You and Sammy Duet should meet up and talk about that sometime. Fitting you're both ESP artists and both guitars are your custom shops. It doesn't quite appeal to me, since I'm not a fan of super strats or the short scale length, but I won't deny she is a real beauty of a guitar. Metal yet classy. I'm not normally a huge fan of scratch plates either, but on this one it just fits. I can't help but be extremely jealous of it though, even if it's not quite my spec. The closest I've gotten was my MP-600 and that thing played like a dream, I can only imagine how well a guitar made at the custom shop plays. Shred on!

I was wondering about those marks while you were getting ready to play, then you started playing and the marks went away somehow 😄 Looks like you sanded across the grain a little. Luckily it's an easy enough fix, just sand them with the grain :) In the close-ups they don't look deep at all. Carefully and lightly sanding those scratches with 1000 grit sandpaper or above(I like 1500), with the grain should blend them with the rest of the board. After oiling the fretboard it should be like they were never there. I would do just one from start to finish and get the feel for it and the result. Doing the others would be easy then. Just my two cents :) In the unlikely scenario of anything going south, it wouldn't be any harder for a good luthier to fix it than it is now anyway. Sorry for the long post, again 😅@@RobArnoldWorld

It's a bit more complicated. You can hear it from him. video title: 🎸The very FIRST RA-600 signature series ESP ltd guitar! time: 6 minute mark
@individuo11776 ай бұрын
Thanks @miyaaaaw just watched the video. So there was no real reason behind the choice of the 24.75 scale choice. Is the RA-3 24.75 as well? It's an absolute sick guitar, I am a sucker for single pickups, reverse headstocks and pickguards. This guitar having all 3 was right up my street. I remember the 'Resurrection' bonus documentary there was a part where you were playing 'Six' in the studio and the guitar looked like it was a dark red colour, like a mahogany or wine red and I thought it looked amazing.
@miyaaaaw6 ай бұрын
@@individuo1177 Yes I believe it is. Even his gorgeous custom RA-5 is 24.75. I'm with you on it being an absolute sick axe. In EYL Ep.29 around 27min mark Rob first hands Hager the RA-3 then an MH1000. You can see the length difference there. Looks like people debated a lot over the scale length when the RA600 was released. And some people even right out dismissed the axe just based on that value without even touching the guitar. Whoever plays it says it plays like butter though and holds on to it. It's very hard to come by :) I have guitars in both scale lengths and the difference doesn't matter much to me. If anything I slightly prefer the 24.75. Mine has a 42mm nut though, I like 43mm better. So RA600 ticks all the right boxes for me, a true dream guitar. I think the scale length was destiny. I take it as a gift from metal gods 🙂

(Mr) Rob I have a question that I've had a hard time finding a good answer for and thought you'd be the man to ask , i just purchased a mij Evh wolfgang with the top mounted Floyd R and all my previous guitars with F R were full floating , when I'm changing strings or changing tunings do I have to block the trem or re adjust the trem afterwards like on a floating system , in other words to I just make sure the bridge is laid flat and it's correct is there any thing special to do here for correct balance thank you sir
@RobArnoldWorld6 ай бұрын
Hey man! Honestly, I don't have any experience with top mounted Floyds! But as far as I know, they can't tilt backwards, and the bar can only be dipped downwards, correct? If so, that eliminates half of the struggle! I'd say yes... you still need to worry about making sure the bridge is level, by balancing your tuning vs. string gauge vs. spring tension. But I'd assume it'll be much easier than a fully floating Floyd, because like I said, half of the struggle won't exist, since the bridge can't fall backwards down into the body.
@artytoney20576 ай бұрын
@RobArnoldWorld yes and I went ahead a restrung it and it pretty much holds balance on its own kinda answered my I wn question I appreciate your response i.kust wasn't sure if it needed blocking but it did well thank you

Haha I appreciate that man! My tech box here is actually pretty sweet, but yes, the cheap ass kitchen table cart I have it sitting on, is shaky! I actually do have a pro guitar work station in another room! Check it out if you're interested! kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqG7mH1_odl_jJI
All I want is an ESP but we're out of tue golden era, and the prices of US made, or even Japanese made has become seriously ridiculous. Some of the MIJ models are 4k. Anything with "ESP" on the headstock like that RA3 now costs AT THE VERY LEAST 5 thousand dollars... R.I.P. ESP, it's not a consumer name anymore.

Bro, call me ignorant but what does “mfa” stand for when it comes to Matt Devries? 😅

Matt From Ascension! Both Matt and original Chimaira guitarist Jason Hager, played together in a band called Ascension before Chimaira.

I tried the Stringjoy acoustics...absolutely dead after 3 days. I mean beyond dead...worst I've ever used. YMMV...

👆👆 THIS 👆👆!!! This here video is a great exampl... wait, NO!!!... It's THE PERFECT example of an outstanding musically inclined craftsman who happens to be an amazing human-being giving his favorite TOOL some TLC even though it's probably in near mint condition!! Which is why I don't miss a video and he is my favorite guitarist to boot!!! #goals #inspiration #life-lessons #guitarmaintainence Ps.. After I watched you re-string your old Barratone (atleast 4 times lol..) and heard you promote those Stringjoy Strings without any prior knowledge... I said yep.. It won't be long before #StringJoy has a new dang good promoter!! #ROBARNOLDWORLD @ROBARNOLDWORLD
