Robben with that particular SG is one of the greatest sounds I've ever heard. Thanks for sharing this!

Been near the front at a robben club sized gig and boy was he loud on stage! That's a large part of his sound

in this video, he doesn't spend a lot of time right in front of those amps either.

Oh the sweet sound of a Dumble amplifier. May Alexander rest in peace.

This is how the musicians played in the 70’s. Loose but very musical. My wife would prefer other artists but I love it

and not still playing the same stuff from 30 years ago either.

The songs are good but he needs a keyboard or rhythm guitar player to fill in his style of playing.

That’s a subjective opinion, though a Hammond B3 would be sweet. I’ve always been partial to power trios. I love how clear he is in this band setting.

You know, as much as I love Robben, and I have been listening to him since the early 90s, his playing in the last 5 years or so has become kinda uninspired sounding. His playing lacks that fire and passion he used to have. Like that first song here for example, had almost zero structure and almost came off like 4 musicians just loosely playing licks to warm up before a gig.

He needs a keyboardist. That should fill in all the blank spots with his style of playing.

@@bluesman97 Yep. Hammond B3 with Skip Edwards from Dwight Yoakam's band. Unbelievable B3 player.

Great player but a little boring 🤪

I think he's just expressing himself and playing for his own enjoyment. When you hit your 70s you're not the same person you were at 40 or 45. I think he's just playing what HE likes and I doubt he's much concerned about who else likes it and who don't.
