I first heard Mystic Mile while I was living in a refugee camp in the mountains in Thailand, working as a volunteer high-school teacher. It was a remote place, with limestone cliffs and forest and little bamboo houses with roofs thatched with leaves. At the full moon the night was very bright and there were fireflies in the reeds beside the little stream below my house. This music always makes me think of that place. In it's own way, it was sacred and mysterious, even surrounded by war.

The 30 under crowd have trash for ears. Rap, Hip Hop, No talent singers with auto tune. This is one of the greatest blues songs ever written and played.

It's about that spiritual force that is there with, you can call it your conscience, some will call it God, Great Spirit, Higher Power. It gives you a warm feeling when you made a good decision , or it a feeling of doom if you made a bad one. It is good to listen to it now and then. Self reliance isn't always sure
