This is one of the rare times I see him playing his PRS Signature guitar. Most of the time he is on his Telecaster. I guess it is safer to travel with the PRS than with a vintage guitar. They only made a limited number, which of course sold right away. 200 guitars for the world. I always like the Fender shape and sound better.

I think it sounds great and adds a different flavor to his sound. It's a blast to play with and it's not like the whole song uses the effect. Let the man do what he wants, he's earned it at this point in his career.

I am not so keen on Robben with a PRS, they are kind of generic, I prefer the distinctiveness of his Epiphone, telecaster or Les Paul, but he always plays like a champion

Tele for me ..but he's awesome ..love his music
@e.tienne66005 ай бұрын
Actually this special one PRS is brilliant to play and far less « generic » than others (I agree on the comment), but even with good headphones it is difficult to get on KZbin
@JMunchen-wf2yj5 ай бұрын
The whole PRS is generic thing is just kind of silly, they’re like Les Paul’s, you play ten all are different and out of ten a few will be fantastic and a few will sound dead. Many Les Paul’s sound awful, but then you find a good one that’s nice and light and bright and clear. Robben knew what he was doing with this PRS model, it’s humbuckers that are bright and clear and low output enough, it does the exactly what you want a good Les Paul to do. I agree the telecaster is the best, but I think the telecaster is the best guitar ever made! Can’t compare humbuckers to single coils either, and the tele bridge has the best single coil sound in the game. But as far as humbucker equipped guitars go, the PRs mccarty’s are incredible and in my opinion, much better sounding than les Paul’s, they’re on average, much brighter and brighter is good.

Great Robben don't know if you'll read.. anyway I need to say turn back to a vintage guitar, PRS doesn't have that soul. POG same philosopy.. try a zvex fuzzolo. Your playing deserves better tones.

Stay away from those PRS guitars , they are EATING YOUR TONE AND ABOVE ALL THE DYNAMICS OF YOUR FINGERS...you can't have your very own Robben Ford ghost notes on that sterile guitar! please get back to your tone...! cheers from Adrogue! your notes are right your tone and finesse is lost on a mediocre guitar !

I used to be a big fan but he went off the boil a long time ago. And why? Because too many people stroking him off over a lot of sub standard, mediocre content. For the record that PRS sounds pap to my ears.

@chillidogkev As much as I hate to say it, I agree with you about Robben's playing. I loved him up til about the late 90s, but his playing now is missing that old fire and sense of adventure. His licks don't seem inspired and full of passion like on the "Talk To Your Daughter" record, for example.
@chillidogkev5 ай бұрын
@@1970borntorun I don't like writing negative comments about Robben but I hope he might see some of them and ask himself a few questions. 'Talk to your Daughter'? OMG... I heard that on the radio one morning at breakfast and it blew me away! Bought the album and it is one of my all time favourites.
