Here's a structure build I've been wanting to get to for quite awhile: the outlaw cabin that sits atop Robber's Roost. Like most of the On18 Bandit Canyon Railway, this structure is a pure bit of fun. Perched precariously on the side of a cliff and looking like it might be blow down in a stiff breeze, this is a funky old shack with loads of character. And speaking of character, there's even a rough looking fellow in the window who might just be Billy the Kid. Loads of wood modeling techniques, staining, weathering, and figure painting in this one!
Thanks for watching, amigos!

This video was a great 2-fer. Not only was the build quality, as usual, but the figure painting mini tutorial was great too

The red long-johns hanging on the side makes the whole cabin seem lived in. Nice touch!

There's nothing like the smell of fresh cut wood in the morning right Dave?! I love this build and it looks perfect in this scene. Thanks for sharing the process of the build especially the painting technique but also on the figure as well.

Hmm.....appears to me you were just a mite influenced by your quaint, always tilting little town of Jerome, when designing the Robber's Roost Cabin. Thanks for another fun build.😉

Looks as if you were able to color grade everything and adjust for the lack of lighting. Fun build! That must have been quite a test of courage to stand on that railing and mount those antlers!

Love your channel. You might want to try using a sharpened toothpick to pick out fine details. I work in N scale and use toothpicks frequently, especially for painting figures.

Hi Dave, awesome as always! Just one suggestion / idea: At the beginning of your video, there are strong (and for me, irritating) reflections in your glasses, especially from the circular light for filming. Based on my amateur photography knowledge, a polarizing filter might help reduce those reflections. Definitely keep recording your highly interesting and entertaining videos - with or without reflections. I really enjoy what you do. Thx!

Another Fantastic Build! Thank you for taking us on your adventures and sharing the Story of Thunder Mesa as it develops. Your narration as each seen develops, draws us in like a well written movie. It becomes alive within our imagination. Creating opportunities to place ourselves in the middle of the action and developing our own narrative for deleted explanations, like - why the ladder is upside down on the new build. Since retiring a year and a half ago, I’ve been working with and developing my skills in PLA 3D printing for my future HO scale layout. Although, you continue to draw me closer to getting into Laser cut structures as well. The artistic detail you share in the woodwork provides a timely completion over the work that must go into plastic creations. Thank you for keeping us all Moving Forward in our Imaginations and Skill developing. BTW what Laser Cutter do you use?
