There is an obvious berm of dirt going across the dirt path right after the ramp ends and this is what I believe made his bike begin to go out of control, your comment nailed it as far as I am concerned. They should have created a better transition from the ramp to the dirt or have extended it a ways further, at least that’s what I thought as I watched it. Great fearless jump by Robbie as always, I also loved watching his father jump and it has been fun to watch his son follow his footsteps so very well.

@@randwall7626 I saw that too. It seems he overshot the landing pad a bit too. If he landed sooner he would have hit the berm at less speed. Rad as hell either way tho.

WOW just incredible ! my lifetime hero is his dad , I grew up in the Evel days, I used to ride dirt bikes from sun up to sundown all summer,, back in the days of Wide World Of Sports when Evel had a jump scedualed all the Neighborhood kids would be glued to the tv to watch,, there would be all the festivities and anticipation leading up to the jump that you could actually feel the electricity in the air,, almost like you were really there, your heart would be pounding and you'd be holding your breath evertime he would do his test runs , and then he would just soar like an eagle and finally after it seemed like forever he'd touch down like a fighter plane and you could finally take a breath (sorry I got sidetracked on memory lane for a sec.) Just incredible memories , ok on to Robbie what an absolutely incredible showmen , this jump had me feeling like a kid again , I was glued to the t.v. again, both the takeoff and landing ramps looked incredible , I'm absolutely puzzled by the landing area beyond the landing ramp, it looked like there was no effort at all put into it, there's massive bumps, equipment etc.etc. Robbie makes one of the greatest jumps in history and gets wrecked by the ground having pretty much no prep (Does anybody else see what I'm seeing?) It looks like that whole area had a million things that could of went wrong, that easily could of led to his death or serious injury.. Thanks so much for letting me kinda relive some of those same feelings I had as a kid, this was truly a death defying jump, I'm so glad he came out victorious, I always felt Robbie never got the credit he should of due to his Dads legendary shoes to fill, but he should never feel bad about that because nobody on the planet could ever beat the bar that Evel set , I mean he's the guy that invented the bar, and I probably owe not having brain damage to Evel because at every jump he'd say to always wear your helmet, some kids wouldn't wear theres because they said it wasn't cool , but I said if Evel said it then they were the ones that weren't cool.... I'll end this by saying thank you to both father(rip) and son for the heart pounding memories!!! P.S. Oh yeah Knievels 1 Grand Canyon 0 (Mic drop)

I couldn’t have said it any better myself, it was a more innocent time, a time where everyone was glued to the few channels that were available. Everyone at school was talking about television shows, I was glued to the tv just to see the new toys that were coming out. Evel captured our hearts that’s for sure, I still have my stunt cycle, as well as my smash up derby cars, and my Steve Austin, thanks for the trip down memory lane, be blessed my friend.👍

Agree with your comment, His dad was the king showman, stuntman and them shoes are impossible to fill but robbie does a good job, Why the fck would he say yes to that stupid landing setup? Yes he did land way to far on the ramp but I do not think he would have stopped anyway.

Seriously.......my god they did their boy Rob dirty on this. That was so pathetic I really thought for a second it was on purpose, like Robbie eating it would be dramatic or something because they knew there was all of 0% chance he wouldn’t clear the canyon. The goddamn landing platform was so short he almost landed into the dirt straight away- what, did they run outta wood and just wing it??? “Well, Carl, I know we ran outta wood but the landing looks a lil bumpy........ehhh, just put some bails of hay there at the end and it’ll be fine, great job, Carl. You ready for the strip club? let’s roll” Amateur hour 🤦🏻‍♂️ 🤮

Robbie was definitely a very unique and interesting guy. Back in 1996 he came to my city to do a jump at a large civic center here. The night before the event he ends up driving around in a bad neighborhood with a complete stranger. He got ditched by the guy and Robbie ended up banging on the door of a random house. The lady who answered the knock was terrified of this strange man who was staggering around her doorstep and reaked of alcohol(she said)...The cops showed up and Robbie told them he was just trying to find a place to buy a bottle of pert shampoo and a toothbrush, with around 2000 dollars cash in his pocket. The police highly suspected he was running around with this stranger at 2.00 a.m to try and find drugs but they did not persue any serious charges due to lack of evidence. The jump was cancelled, the sponsor of the event said they lost tens of thousands of dollars, and Robbie left the area embarrased and with a lot of bad press. There was never a dull moment for Robbie or his dad. May they both rest in peace!
