Seems to me just to be a more simple guy met guys like him in high school and when I was younger. Not saying he's dumb he's just simple and doesn't have energy for jokes or games. Robbie could have declined the fight at 185. He could have asked for more money from the ufc. He could have kept the fight at 170 and took some of Nicks purse for failing to make weight. He could have even demanded a catch weight and forced Nick to cut another 5-10 lbs. Just goes to show the type of fighter Robbie is.

Robbie is on a different level when it comes to his mental and emotional state. Level headed, and even when he disputed the stoppage against Askren to Herb Dean, he was able to put it aside almost instantly and move on with it all. Amazing role model and will always be one of my favourites.

Yea it takes a sharp mind to just rationalize quickly there's nothing to do about it. He seems like a warrior, fighter but without a Ego. He's just there and apart of it. Compare him to other fighters and you can see he just has no large Ego compared to the rest. He just has full acceptance of what is and what he can do.

It’s not much of a record if the rules are handicapped special just for you. People forget Robbie was a middleweight most of his outside UFC career had a lot of vicious knock outs particularly his Melvin Manhoef and Frank Trigg KO’s which were both LETHAL, and was a strikeforce middleweight champion.

Robbie has been a class act. This interview was typical him but if you want to really see his character look at how he dealt with Herb Dean after he stopped the Ben Askren fight mistakenly thinking Robbie tapped. Very few guys would be able to choke that down the way he did without losing his shit.

Robbie is my cousins uncle on his dads side. I remember staying at his appartment when i was really young, very early into his career. He had so many weights just laying around in his apartment before he got big and he has always been this chill. I've never seen him let anything get to him. Outside the octagon, he is a super nice, down to earth guy.
