Yes, you are right. I was there too. It was definitely February 1995. In fact, I conceived and produced the Concert as Executive Producer, and CEO and founder of NETWORK INTERNATIONAL.

One of the greatest songwriters ever. And Mr. Robertson has always shown such respect for different cultures. And not a bad guitarist... considering he's one of Clapton's idols.

It's far past time for all of us who call ourselves Americans,(especially white-ish 2nd gen immigrants-like me), to do more, say more, learn more, and be more in support of solidarity- to be righting these centuries old wrongs. From Humanity- all religion, no religion, White, Jewish to Black to Asian, iow everyone before and since, we need to educate ourselves on their story and wrap our arms around our original people here in the land we all love. My intro was from Robbie Robertson in his music that entered and will always remain in my soul, and I will be grateful to his magic forever.

For a non-native English speaker, could someone put put the following verses in context?: "CROW'S BROUGHT THE MESSAGE TO THE CHILDREN OF THE SUN" - Who is Crow? Who are the children of the sun? Which is the message? "MY SISTER ABOVE" - What does "above" mean in this context? Shouldn't the word "is" be there (she's above - dead- in the sky)? "LIKE A LATTER-DAY SAINT" - Does the verse refer to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? Why?
@costeris35 Жыл бұрын
“Latter day saint” in these lyrics means that she is like a saint now in these times, it doesn’t refer to the church of latter day saints.
@costeris35 Жыл бұрын
The Children of the sun are the Native American / Canadian first nation people. Crow is a mythological messenger from the gods or the spirit world. Of course they are songlyrics so like poetry there can be many layers.
@jenniferloftus236311 ай бұрын
This song is from the point of view of the Native Americans (indigenous Americans in the US). That’s very important context when interpreting this song. The album it comes from was the soundtrack of a documentary called The Native Americans. Research Ghost Dance and that history and the words in this song will be more meaningful to you and easier to understand. It is worth your time, even if it’s just a cursory review. Otherwise, the lyrics will make little sense.
