Robbie Savage is right; everyone is entitled to an opinion, regardless of their ability. John Terry recently described Jose Mourinho as "the very best I have ever worked with", yet Mourinho hardly had a glittering career as a footballer. So by Terry's logic surely he would ignore any feedback Mourinho ever game him as immaterial? Alan Shearer, one of the greatest players the UK has ever produced, had one short stint as manager which ended in relegation. Thierry Henry had an incredible career in which he achieved a lot, but has been slated as a pundit for his lack of insight. My point is one's ability as a footballer does not have a defining influence on the validity of their opinion on the game, nor should it. The laughter from the journalists in the room, most of them failed footballers themselves, is quite bizarre when you consider Terry is basically saying he doesn't respect their opinion either.

Robbie Savage didn't have a career? That's basically like saying that Paul McGrath didn't have a career. Savage played in the premier league and played for his national team. So he didn't have a career, because he didn't win the league, european cups or the world cup? Matt Le Tissier won less that Savage. If Le Tissier had a word about Terry's performance, his opinions wouldn't be taken on board by Terry, because Le Tissier stayed at Soton all his career? What about a player who has had a long stint in the lower leagues? Their opinions aren't valid either? Terry is just a despicable human being. But like Savage said, I was also astonished to hear the loud laughter of the journalists. If I was a journalist in that room, you'd just see me with the most disappointed look on my face, after hearing Terry say what he did. How many journalists in that room have had distinguished football careers to find what he said funny? Really embarrassing.

John Terry is basically just undermining every pro player not of his standard or level.

@GET THOSE SKILLS : Depends what standard we are talking about. If it is his conduct as a human being then fear not, there are no players of his standard. sycophantic turd!

I don’t care about anything that John Terry says. Robbie played for my club and was immense. He’s also a selfless player, who worked for everyone around him, and not himself. We had much better technical players at Blackburn, at the time, but that mid-2000s era Blackburn team belonged to Robbie.

The problem isn't with Robbie Savage or opinions, the problems is the media who allow anybody to be on a panel. Robbie Savage should never have been considered to be a TV media panellist purely for the fact that he was an average player.

I've really warmed to Robbie since I started listening to the Fred Sav Syed podcast a while back and I think it's ridiculous that Terry would say he's had no career, Robbie knows he didn't reach the top level but he has hit heights in his career any of us would dream of so it's clear that Terry can't take criticism and he's as much of an idiot that everyone thinks he is, Everyone says Terry is a legend but when he tries to throw shade at people like that for an honest opinion it shows how little class he has

Playing several seasons in the English top flight is a poor level?
@tverz43148 жыл бұрын
MrTunes he played for Blackburn, where are they now?
@arsenalfanrichi8 жыл бұрын
? Jermain Defoe played for Charlton. Gordon Banks played for Chesterfield. Peter Shilton played for Nottm Forest, winning the European Cup twice. Where are they now? Not in the Prem... Btw, Savage was a very important player for Leicester for a long time, and that Leicester side was not bad at all.

For the record, Rob, I laughed out loud when the reporters did. John Terry was funny. And correct.
