Honestly, there were so many, tough, underrated fighters in the 70's and 80's. Fighters that would surely be World Champions today.

Grew up in the projects with Robbie. Marvin's sister Geneara Simms lived on Cliff Ave. Too bad crck defeated him in the late 80s. Rico Petracelli had enough and Rockin Robbie drove cab for awhile

Loved Tinley and always thought his inactivity messed him up. Was shocked when Doug Dewitt outboxed him but I thought Tinley did enough to beat Barkley. Tinley was such an underrated boxer thank you for posting this.

I was at ringside for the Tinley/Barkley fight at New York's Felt Forum. At the end of the fight, I overheard Barkley admit to Tinley that Tinley won the fight. Of course, this was evident to all that watched it that night. However, Barkley was the house fighter, and listening to his comments at the end of the Simms fight, Tinley knew how the system worked. Sorry his career ended on such a sour note, as he was a solid pro.
