I remember seeing this Christmas gem on Nickelodeon when I was in 5th grade. It was very underrated and easily one of my favorite Christmas shorts. 🦌

There was an ad for this special on one of my Wallace & Gromit DVD's as a kid, but I never actually watched Robbie until I rented it from my college library. I questioned what the hell I watched...

Funny story: As a kid I watched all 3 movies multiple times when they aired on TV. While watching the third, my mom told me that I should go to bed. Ofc I didn't want to, because the movie hasn't ended yet. She told me that the movie probably soon will air again, so I can watch it then. Accepting that argument, I went to bed. THIS WAS THE LAST TIME THIS MOVIE AIRED IN GERMANY (THE COUNTRY I LIVE IN).

This just appeared in the sidebar of another video I was watching. I was *just* talking to my sister-in-law about this. I remember watching it on Fox Kids. I vaguely remember the little jingle/commercial “once left Robbie to be frozen” This earns a chance subscribe. I also miss Olive the other Reindeer

i love the idea of redubbing a film in the same language it was in to begin with. amazingly pointless. im going to start doing this myself so that everything i watch can have my exact regional accent!

I don’t blame the American cast, the director of the American cast however needed to get off his arse to motivate his team. Like they are all talented people and it wasn’t just one bad apple…

Sometimes I do question recasting Steve Coogan with Hugh Grant another British actor for the US dub as Blitzen

I've wondered the same thing since Grant is basically just doing an impression of Coogans performance.

@@NostalgicRevisitsindeed with the only difference being when he mocks Robbie as Hugh Grant briefly dose an American accent to imitate Ben Stiller in a similar vein to Steve Coogan when he imitated Ardal O'Hanlon's Irish accent for when Blitzen is mocking Robbie

Oh, yeah? Well, editing the first 2 specials for time, and putting them into an hour-long timeslot for CBS* (42 minutes with approx. 18 minutes of ads crammed in.) and cropping them for 4;3, (despite being originally presented in 16;9 as aired on BBC1 in the UK) and keeping them cropped that way, was another stupid choice! *from 2002 all the way to 2005, and from 2016 all the way to 2023.
