Today I finished up the Tubed front end on the Genesis! Making a DIY Bash bar and adding headlight tabs, bumper mounts and making everything fit nicely!!

Hey Robbie, for the bumper tabs, I’d put the bolt in going in from the bottom and weld the head to the underside of the tab, so that then you can just put a nut on the bolt and tighten it.

Well I bought my first mig/tig welder a week ago I bought a flux core about 3 months ago to learn how to weld when I have some free time which yes I know flux core isn’t the best and gets hated on but I just wanted to learn and I built a roll bar for my truck because I have a tendency to do dumb stuff and figured it would be a good way to make my truck safer and learn how bend pipe and practice my roll bar/roll cage welding and it turned out good honestly and it’s fun

Hey bro, great progress on the gen. A few things, for you coming from a 2012 Genesis coupe 2.0T owner myself. 1. The screw pop clips that hold on the bumper absolutely suck haha. I bought a spare bag of 20 from Amazon because they are always breaking 2. Any fmic on the genesis will be located directly below the bash bar, in front of the stock intercooler. Since your taking out the stock intercooler, the radiator will need brackets to hold it up because the stock intercooler is no longer doing so. My mitsimoto intercooler kit came with small little L brackets to do so. 3. Fitment wise on the ark bumper with fmic pipes coming out from the intercooler itself may be an issue. I know on the stock bk1 bumper, most people take out the fog light bezels because they will hit the pipes when trying to mount the bumper. I still have my bezels in, but used a dremel to shave down the inside of my bezel. 3. With the headlights and the sagging bumper; I know the stock bk1 bumper has small clips/bracket things that kind of slide in a small groove in the bottom of the headlight. It looks like the ark bumper may not have that, or you cut off the groove part when you cut up the headlights previously. Hope you read this lol, and found this helpful. With front mounts they need support at the bottom so good idea waiting till you have that then just make the front mount support beefy to be able to jack the car

Robbie, you should purchase a 3D Printer for the shop so you can design custom parts in house. For example if you wanted a breakaway part that you wanted to break in a crash to prevent more damage, or another example if you wanted to make some clips you didnt have. I believe It could potentially be a worthwhile investment with a cheap 3d printer at 200$

Hi robbie im alex Most cars have sag because there is A cosmetic bumper A Styrofoam bumper A steel bumper And the foam isnt thick enough You can make it thicker to rise the bumper You need foam to push out for support and to take the impact of a crash perhaps? (The normal car logic) in the instance of fitting a body kit you stock one you can shave it down with any tool that spins or you can stack Styrofoam on the bumper to push out Styrofoam plates from your local store and gorilla glue. You're gonna make styro foam brackets and glue them to the bumper. Build something that sits in the bumper to sit on the new bash bar bumper
