Rebuilding a RARE OPEL in 1 Week!

I have been telling you guys about this car for the last week or so, and today we took delivery! this is not a car I will be keeping for long, but to help a friend out and give you some very different content I am very excited to get started!

This is really exciting! I'm sure you guys are already knee-deep, but a good plan of action when ur overwhelmed is to pull out all the parts you have in the bins, make a list of everything that needs to go on the car, put both of these categories from hardest to easiest to complete and start chipping away at the list. I have a '78 Opel Kadett C coupe in my garage for the last 9 years that belonged to my landlord. He told me he no longer has any time for it so he's given me free reign over it. It'll be getting a full NB MX-5 drivetrain in the near future and I'm excited to get started on it.. I love these cars.

Awesome! Take your time, these cars and old stuff is finicky and requires lots of attention. Although the mechanics of it are simple, the age of the components can make it more difficult. Make sure you have and follow the shop manuals to make sure everything goes in and is torqued to spec. Parts for these cars are rare and expensive. Thank you for doing this!

My grandfather had one of these. Its called a vauxhall manta in the uk. This one is in usa spec, the ride hight its about half a foot higher. The bumpers are different too. same as the grill.

I've had 4 of these. Last one was a Calibra Turbo enigined version kicking out 360 bhp. :) Great cars and incredibly easy to work on and modify.

Jeep 4.0’s are similar. The exhaust and intake are on the same side, and the exhaust goes right underneath the intake. But the exhaust exits out at the same level as the intake.

Opel manta junghu!!! That's what we say in the Netherlands. It's a classic car for the film: New Kids: Turbo. A Dutch film that is a lot of fun to watch. Not sure if there are subtitles. Its on Netflix.

This is probably too late, but I really think that you should start with getting the engine to run. You might run into places where you find you need to take parts out of the interior if you have eg. a wiring problem. Just a thought. Excited to see you guys work on it though, no matter how you approach it.

Haven’t had a chance to do much but accessories and paint haha that’s the worst part about cars is that it’s relatively expensive and breaks hearts when you can’t afford the hobby. Yea, mostly it is the B type that is common. I have seen A model here in Slovenia maybe 4 times so it was difficult to find one and buy it. I managed to get one htat was sitting in a barn for 20 years and am now restoring it.. :)

My stebdad had one to here in Germay. It was his dream car, he bought it after he had a Opel Diplomat and befor that, he had an Opel Kapitän. He Restored it completly in the same color. Sadly he died in 2014 caused by Cancer, the car is now Sitting his son's Garage and is driving just some times.
