It must be a very special ecosystem in that stream that it'll carry cod and trout in the same water. Its known that cod will live in cooler streams but they mostly used to be in warmer, broad waters and trout got confined to the mountains were I used to come from. But right next to each other, I'm going with 'remarkable' conditions.
@robbiefishing22 күн бұрын
Thanks mate. Yeah it certainly is pretty unique. I think that pretty soon, as the water warms up the trout will most likely head upstream.

@@robbiefishing Sorry to hear that mate. I have just taken posession of 100 grubs. What is the best way to keep them on the hook? Cheers.
@robbiefishing21 күн бұрын
@PhillipWhite-uz3wu WOW Phil that's awesome. Are they Bardi grubs? If so, I like to use a Paternoster rig. With a Paternoster rig there is no known at the hook, it is just looked over. I like to push the loop forward a little and create some slack, as if I'm taking the hook off. Then I loop it over the tail of the Bardi grubs and pull it right again. That will hold the Bardi grub in place. 👍

@robbiefishing22 күн бұрын
Thanks mate. There's not a lot of difference to be honest. I find them both to be a bland fish. They're nice, but nothing special. Sadly there is no minimum size limit on them in Victoria.

hey Robbie, love your channel, me and my old man and my sons went up to black soil gully, the Barkley river, fed by the Mcalister and the Caledonian rivers, last year it was every cast trout were on the spinners, and hard bodies, this year, nothing. didn't see one trout in 3 days of wading and casting, where have they gone? no minnows or nymphs, it was dead, just curious if you have theory why they have disappeared? 1,000 casts not a thing, but we did see a pair of huge carp in a deep pool, I wonder if they've eaten all the eggs and pushed the trout out? years ago there were never carp that high in the high country vic. where's all the trout gone!!!
@robbiefishing22 күн бұрын
Hi mate, it's a very familiar story for most people and there are a lot of theories. I filmed a Livestream a few weeks back called "where have the trout gone". Check that one out mate, hopefully it answers a few questions for you.
