Casting Lures For Murray Cod At Sunset

This was an enjoyable late afternoon/evening stroll along the bank casting lures for Murray cod into some pretty tight, skinny water. This is my favourite type of Murray cod fishing.

I know exactly where you are , A few years back for Christmas I done a two day camping trip there it was beautiful the serenity was amazing , A little hot though like you said mid 30s, On the 2nd day I was casting my 250 Lb line with a wire trace out in the little narrow river right near a log no wider then 3 meters , I was in hunt for the 150 kg trout that’s been snapping peoples rods and even took someone’s dog few years back . After a day of catching a few little Redfin I hooked onto him , It was a long fight the heat made it worse. Finally I had got him to the surface he was as thick as a tree trunk with beautiful green markings and at least 200cms in width. The monster trout kept fighting hard more different to what I had expected instead of head shakes from normal fish I had caught that day it felt more like bobbing up and down it must have been due to the size of This monster trout. Due to the heat I had passed out but amazingly when I woke up I was still hooked to him , After wiping the sweat from my face so I could see again it turned out though I was only hooked to my beer esky that some how fell into the water . Moral of the story don’t take magic mushrooms out bush .

Well I had only looked at my phone for maybe 5 possibly 6 minutes when I noticed you uploaded a new video. Just loved the 40 to 45cm Cod followed by the 30 to 35cm one. Hopefully it’s only going to be 1 maybe 3, 4 or possibly 5 days until your next epic fishing adventure 🤗

Thanks mate. I love this sort of fishing. Targeting monster cod with huge lures in the centre of winter doesn't interest me, but flicking lures in the small water chasing summer cod is the bomb!

I have caught big fish in the summer more so than in the winter but small water cod fishing is so exciting you never know what will happen and a top water bite gets me every time
