Robby Naish is just an inspiration. I was windsurfing this week. I am over 40. There is not a lot of wind here in the middle of Germany. Getting my gear out is always a hassle. Sometime I wonder if it is stil worth it. Then I see this video and I remember that I shouldn't take it for granted. Maybe one day I won't be able to do it anymore.

Spend 30 days during May-September in San Francisco or 30 miles east in the Delta and you can have all the wind you want. Today is an exceptionally windy day and it's probably blowing 20-25 today and all day.

Wow! He is not only a legend, he is smart to, and he still get out there, testing new equipment. I remember a video on VHS in the early nineties of Robby surfing in hawaii. I was amazed, and decided that one day I go windsurfing too. Now I am 36, have started windsurfing some years ago, so he is right, u´re never to old, just go out there....

Ich war 2006 in Maui , und 70% der Surfer am Kanaha Beach waren über 60 und einige waren in den 80ern !! Wenn du fit bleibst wirst du es noch lange machen können , das hab ich da gelernt :-) .

Since, I began windsurf, at the same time, as physical education student, in 1979, I practice outdoor's sports and activity, and the once I have in a thinking way of life is this champion. Thru windsurf up to today, in addition with a high level soccer period player and 30 years of underground caving, ski, snowboard, and so on, cause it becomes my works as physical educateo and technology researcher, it rest for that one of the finest sport practitioner I study and share as example is Robby NAISH, twice for practice schemes, and a bundle of attitudes and reflexions : a so nice way of life and ecology of it ; Alain.

He is literally such a legend, and humble too - in that he just wants to be one of the lads, not stuck on a podium. He really gets what surfing is all about.... Cheers dude for all the inspiration....

One thing truly inspiring about Naish is his ability to remain a layback, gentlemen surfer, choosing not to bother between the senseless "competition" between wind and kite surfing, but embracing both as awesome water planing sports.

privileged to see him sail "lanes" - just down from Ho'okipa in 1994 was on a windsurfing trip to Maui from London, wow what a trip :-)

He is what you call, a REAL waterman... I so agree with his sentiment regarding older people that use to windsurf, where i use to surf long time ago but decided to start windsurfing at my age, and it's tougher yes but still very doable.

One thing I always admired about RN is he is not a surfer "dude". He comes across as intelligent, articulate and kind. Listen to some of Laird Hamilton or other surfer dudes. It's like huh?

Robbie is a legend! Still ripping like a twenty year old. I can only dream of being able to kill it like he does when I am in my forties.

How many homes does he own in Hawaii and about where are they located? I'm not asking for addresses, just an approximate location near a major landmark.

most shots were taken along the northshore of Maui, leeward (seaside) of the Hana Hwy. Just right after Ho'okipa and in between Jaws (Peahi).

I thought he lived on the Windward side of Oahu, Kailua area? With Hookipa Maui being the Windsurfing Wave Sailing place of the world, maybe he moved or owns multiple homes?
