Chappers! I think I may speak for a wide audience when I say, It would be greatly appreciated if you could make a video covering the basics of guitar maintenance. I am 16 years old and have been playing guitar since i was 12. Ive just recently begun to learn about all the different things you need to do / have done when you change tunings and the importance of string gauge and intonation/truss adjustments. And although im slightly getting the hang of it, I never that the reason playing 12's in drop d would never suond or feel right. Always thought it was me. I still do not know how or why I need to adjust the truss rod when changing string gauges, but I have recently learned how to intonate. Your old videos were always easy to learn from and you put things well. Id really appreciate if you consider this!

My opinion... the strat is probably one of the most reliable and stable guitars out there. It's my favorite overall sound straight through the amp and when they go for new and different sounds, they always seem to nail it for my ears. Not taking anything away from other top guitar makers. So many great ones... ...but for my money, a solid American strat is THE electric guitar. They got it right somewhere in the late 50's and despite changes and adjustments here and there over the years, it's always still a Strat. What company hasn't copied this model? It's the perfect do anything guitar. I love me a Les Paul or a PRS or even a Chapman (well done Rob, lol), but that Strat just fits me better than anything. Rock on, Captain and Chappers!

I was a huge Metal snob for many years and damn near refused to play anything that didn't have humbuckers. I say that to say that I recently tried one of these out recently at a Guitar Center, and was amazed and how incredible they are to play. I genuinely never knew bends could be that easy. Thanks for posting all of these Fender videos Rob. You've quite likely diversified many a metalhead over the years, including myself. Keep doing your thing and producing great music and content, it's well appreciated.

I played the single humbucker one (the one the cap is playing) at guitar center a few months ago and I absolutely fell in love with the sound and feel. I’m not crazy about the body-style (as I am a Gibson guy) but I honestly think I’m still gonna but it. The tone that came from that guitar is literally the kind of tone that guitar players (me included) have spent their whole lives looking for!

Just received my American Pro in 3 color sunburst. Absolutely love it. The setup from Fender is perfect! I was extremely pleased to see the pickup covers and pickguard/scratchplate are a matching cream color. I much prefer this to the cream/white combination on most of the other colors. Like the Captain, I feel no difference between the American Standard neck and the new one. I do love the fact that the highs are maintained at all volume levels. Wonderful Fender tone through my Fender Blues Junior III. Totally satisfied.

The Strats, in my opinion, have such an amazing sound with their single coil pickups. Personnaly, I think they sound better than for example a Les Paul or anything that has a humbucker that isn't a Strat HSS. It's like they have a soul of some sort.

Play the D on that Ash! Great solo, Cap. It’s 2021 - your reputation precedes you.
@eyymile8 жыл бұрын
You're right Lee, that chord sounded like the Hard Days Night opening chords (you said "that D chord, Rob actually played an Em11) but if you play the Dm11 it really sounds like it. The real chord was actually played on a 12string. George played an F with a G on top and on the bottom and a C on the bottom next to the G as well (F, A, C, G). Paul played a D on bass and John a Dsus4 (D, F#, A, G). That all together is the sound of a Hard Days Night. If you want to play a similar chord on a normal guitar, I'd suggest Dm11/G, (G, D, F, C, D, G (so just missing an A)) or e||---3 B||---1 G||--- 2 D||--- 3 A||--- 3 (fret with thumb) E||--- 3 (fret with thumb) (G, C, F, A, C, G (so just missing a D) So you were right, the chord Rob played, was really similar!

The professional series is definitely a step in the right direction with more balanced pickups (which will hopefully be for sale separately) and treble bleed circuit. I personally think that a line of guitars called "professional" should have locking tuners and a contoured heel (where the back of the neck meets the body) for easy access to the upper frets. Thank you for the demo.

My 2015 deluxe has a shawbucker and it's such a big out put in comparison to the n3's that it kind of only lends itself to solos in conjunction with the other pups unless you use a compressor, that being said it's an incredibly tasty tone that blows any other strat humbucker out the water
@james1st1156 жыл бұрын
The frets are 'Mini Jumbo's', the 6105 model 2:1 ratio fret wire. Medium Jumbo's are 6150 model 1:1 ratio fret wire. And the back of the bridge plate nominally sits 1/8" off the body. Now, the idea behind the Mod V (SSS) is not laterally, but longitudinally. Instead of having three pups all the same alnico strength, they vary it. When they are the same, (say, for arguments sake, alnico V) the magnets in the bridge would be too powerful and being so close to the string it would try to drag it down and hold it there (nullifying the amplitude), making the pup sound muddy. But if you make it alnico 2, 2 or 4 mid, and 5 neck, it's a much better balanced affair (instead of winding the bridge almost inside the body and the neck up till it's just about touching the string!). The adjustment of the pole pieces (done by removing the pup from the body and adjusting up against a radii gauge) will take care of any lateral adjustment (E to e). Ah, the road to perfect intonation, my wet dream...
