Another great review! I have a question about these Robens Tents; how necessary are the footprints for them? I own a Robens Klondike which i absolutely love and I’ve been pondering whether or not to get one of these footprints. Is it worth it do you reckon?

I've not found the need for a footprint as the groundsheet has always been pretty tough. However, it does mean we have to wipe down the underside of the tent when putting it away. As well as making sure it's dry, wiping it prevents us rolling any mud onto the polycotton flysheet. So, a groundsheet would help protect your investment a little more, and reduce that risk. Sorry - not a clear yes/no answer, but hopefully that helps.

@@GetoutwiththekidsCoUk thanks Gav, yes that does help - I’ll probably just stick to ensuring I wipe the groundsheet down before packing away then. Booked my first camping trip post-lockdown for April, I’m excited to try my new Denali stove :)

Thx for the great reviews on your Chanel. In comparison to the Robens Klondike, wich one has the better ventilation when the door is closed? For 5 Persons wich one do you recommend the Chinook Ursa ore the Ursa S?

The ventilation is about the same as they similar vents. Re Chinook Ursa vs Ursa S, my favourite would be the larger Chinook Ursa for a family of 5 as it will give you more space.

The Robens klondike has three lower vents. I don't see any on the chinook. The vents on the Klondike are however very tightly woven mosquito net fabric and not very effective. You can't open them completely. The only way around this on a hot day is to unzip the groundsheet, an easy process. That creates some airflow to cool the tent down. I guess you'd be able to do that on the chinook too.

Do you know how thick the fabric is?

Hi, would I need a flash kit to use a stove in this tent? Thanks

No you don't. Just make sure the flue has a heat shield at the point it goes through the flue sleeve.
