@@watchthisspacecarchannel6523 well i really appreciate that mate but the things we do are only possible from you guys watching honestly , without the views there would be no videos , no sponsors which would mean alot less content for us to share and this channel has given me the opportunity to set up my own shop which would have been alot harder if i didnt do what i do on here, again that comes from the awesome viewers and followers we have yes i put in alot of hours making the videos explaining things in a certain way for everyone to understand ect but if there were no views and these wernt helping people then we couldnt do it , so as i said thankyou mate its you guys watching commenting and sharing that has made this channel what it is and im proud of that

Hey Tony, My boss was looking for a good quality, yet affordable clear and decided to buy some kronox based on your reviews ...we've used it for a month now and it truly is unreal. So easy to spray and has an unreal shine for the price. Nothing comes close to the value for money Great recommendation.!!

Looks amazing and your work is beautiful. How do you find it holds up over time? I use to run my own shop and tried a few different clears but there always seems to be those little issues that lets them down. Im currently restoring my wagon in my old shop and i just want the best products to be used. With the money thats going into it i dont want problems down the road when there will be a serious amount of hours going into the bodywork, paint and artwork and money spent on parts restoring her. There is a huge area to cover on both the cab, chassis and the extra panels that will be added so a clear that holds up well and allows you to cover a large area without drying before youve had a chance to get it all covered would be ideal. I now paint plant machinery where i work but we only use enamel, which isnt the nicest product to work with buutttt its not like i have chance to test products anymore so any help would be greatly appreciated. Im sorry this is so long winded aswell, i just wanted you to underatand the reasons behind the question. This truck will be a tribute to some of my family that are no longer with us so i want it to really be the best it can ever possibly be, its the least they deserve when they have their faces smiling for all to see. All the best and thankyou in advance for any help you can give me. I understand how hard it is been self employed and trying to find time to do other things. The best of luck with your shop brother.....your work really is first class

Must say i am not very keen on this clearcoat. Love roberlos primers but this clearcoat just doesnt lay down as good as some others ive used. Maybe the main difference is that we use nitrotherm nitrogen air supply. The problem is if you use the heated air the finish is kind of matted after drying (like shrink back). If i turn off the heated air supply and nitrogen the finish is perfect. So it seems just a bit temperamental when it comes to heat and speed of aplication. Right now we are are using Spies hecker race 8700 clear and i am loving it. Very fast and great deep shine. As far as the gun is conncerned ws400 all day (also love the look of the lotus edition i have). Great vid mate!

thanks man and some interesting feedback there tbh on the nitrogen system not used one myself and under standard conditions in the booth ive not been able to fault the gloss retention of this but thats interesting to hear fella thanks for the feedback there
@timiracko6317

@@TonysRefinishingTV np man, tbh i found the same with many other clears and basecoats when using the system. I found the only upside to be the speed of the aplication, and flashof times, and maybe reduced pressure when spraying. The system is quite picky with materials. I found the system works best with the top brands (spies hecker, glasurit, and mostly top brand hs and uhs clear coats). Ms clears and most i would say average brands come out worse with the system activated. Altho not really a problem since not many shops use this systems

Would you recommend this clear for a guy spraying at home? I don’t paint much my gun is an GTI Pro with a T110 air cap for clears. I need an air dry clear but have used MS clears in the past I’m not sure if UHS will cause me problems due to my lack of experience and not ideal booth.

I use this at home, air dry, with the standard hardener. It is dust free in about 20 min. It is safe to touch in 1 to 1.5 hours. The shine is awesome. It's a very good clearcoat, very user friendly. Just do a practice run on some scrap panel. It really doesn't need that much to produce a very good result. I found that it's easier to get runs with the 610 as compared to other fast drying spot repair clear coats, so I go kind of fast.

Wow, that off-the-gun finish is amazing! Watching you paint that Morgan made me think of a question though. Let's say you have an older car where the front and/or rear wings stick out at a large angle (say 90 degrees) from the body as they do on that Morgan. If you had the option, would removing the wings to paint them result in a better quality job?
@TonysRefinishingTV
@TonysRefinishingTV 5 жыл бұрын
thanks chris i do try, il be honest mate id have loved to have been able to strip the side boards and everything off this motor for sure but unfortunately there ally panels and bonded to the frame the chance of removing them with no damage or risking bending something was so high it just wasnt worth the rick on a car like this , it was just in for stone chips if it was a resto id definitely have had the lot off

hi and thanks buddy , personally and its not trying to take anything away from liquid glass it is a dam good clear , but i just found even when baked for the times it said it wasnt really 100 polishable whereas the kronox 610 definitely is dry enough after that short bake which for me now as s shop owner thats a big thing we need to be efficient
@callummatheson2379

Do you find it air dries better than the liquid glass? I'm having issues every now and then with the liquid glass curing soft or not flowing as well all the time. Can be a little temperamental at times I'm finding. When it's good it's really good but sometimes you'll spray a job and it will just come out a bit peely unless you nail it on which then gives other issues so will defo give this clear a try out. Cheers tony:)

@@TonysRefinishingTV Cheers Tony, will try it out when the liquid glass is running out. What would you recommend for a cheaper but still decent clear for doing lower value jobs like track bikes and the like? Would like something alongside a premium clear for the cheap jobs that's still a good quality clear. Also if your still needing air filters, I got a 3 stage filter for my shop from shako for 150 new that's absolutely spot on for clean air at a low price. Even filters all the water out when running the sandblaster👌
