Hi, you got it right. Belfour had a powerful right hand, and it is difficult to reproduce. Good to see that young people are still interested the North Mississippi Hill country blues style!

EXCELLENT VIDEO I am working on this song right now. I have been trying to decipher a VERY cryptic cheat sheet put out by another KZbinr. Frankly, it’s a total mess. YOUR instructions are the way go. THANK YOU!!!

I’ve been working on maybe the same cryptic Belfour KZbin lessons. I found them right after Heath did the last Belfour video based in E Standard. It’s great to have the Belfour mysteries solved!

@@kerryfromaj9032 Absolutely. It’s weird that Hill Country Blues is so rarely taught - just Fred McDowell and some RL Burnside. AND it never got Incorportated into modern blues or rock (that I can tell) like every other kind of blues did.

Really enjoyed this. It's very reminiscent of the east african desert blues sound ie Tiniwaren and Ali Farke Toure. You can really hear how that's the origin of American blues. Thanks for the great videos.

Incorrect. Blues sound and even tempo descended from Native American chants and rituals including the sound of buffalo herds running that native Americans liked to mimic in music . During the times of birth of blues the native Americans and blacks were pushed to the skirts of the country where a lot of them actually co existed . Blues is black music but it descended / influenced from Native American chants

Thanks so much for the hill country stuff. After another of your hill country lessons, I started looking for riffs in open C which I like (CGCGCE). I found some sounds like this video. Your lesson gives me more insight on places to go and how to use my C version.

Gold! 👍 I was working on the other earlier Belfour lesson in this tuning. There are very little resources for learning this. This is the best lesson. It’s amazing how only a few notes or parts of any of this sound so good. Less can be great! So I’d suggest to take your time to explore this and enjoy this lesson.

Aside from the versatility, the great thing about alternate tunings is that they help justify having many guitars - I hate the instability that can come from switching tunings.
