I'd like to read this poem in print, as slowly, or repetitively, as necessary, in order to fully comprehend it. I think it's true that the more of Burns' poetry one reads, the more one catches on to the English-word counterparts to that ancient Scottish dialect, though much still remains elusive to me. Burns' poems, including the one read here, has a certain lilt and rhythm built into its structure, that can be quite appealing and moving. His is a type of poetry, in both style-of-verse and subject-matter, that no longer exists in today's non-Romantic world--but should!

Beautiful, even if I don't understand everything (I'm french) I can feel the emotion.

Why the background music? So irritating and unnecessary. The poem, so beautifully read, doesn't need background music.
