What can we learn from storytelling in improvisation education?

Storytelling is an innate ability. People tell each other stories over coffee breaks without preparing them or practicing them - at least, most people don’t... In this presentation, I want to talk about how we can use this innate ability to improve our improvisations and the teaching of improvisation. It helps tremendously when I ask a student to imagine a story; but to which extent can I help the student imagine her own story without having to ask for it, and what else can I learn from the world of storytelling?
