Sharon Stone is a much underrated actress. She holds her own throughout the entire film with De Niro, who was still in his acting prime at this time. These two have great chemistry and wish they had done other projects together.

VersusARCH lol what? When did he ever say he wanted a child? In the movie DeNiro says he wants to change her.The only time he ever refers to wanting a child was before they got married, as away to secure the relationship; and obviously that didn’t work and it didn’t change her.

When he kicks her out but later accepts her when she comes back... it reminds me of something I've heard from a couple of people. Never break up with someone in the heat of the moment, even if they aren't good for you. When Deniro reached over to gently hold her hand in bed when she came home was so gut wrenching. He really loved her and all she had to do was love him back. She could have financially & emotionally secure since he worshipped the ground she walked on. Such a pity. 😢

She literally told him that she didn't have those type of feelings for him. He just couldn't take a hint and wouldn't accept no as an answer. The other guy played by James Woods ( I think his name was Lester in the movie) they did him really wrong and dirty in the movie. They made him look like an ugly dead beat loser, but he was her childhood love. They had been together for a long time. The guy that Robert Deniro played couldn't accept that she never wanted to be with him. His wife and Lester were not that bad in real life.
@seanlove20002 ай бұрын
@@timtags Exactly. Everybody hates Sharon Stone but she told him from the start. The guy said he thought he could change her. You cant change a prostitute unless they themselves want to change. 2:26, what Ace says, is so true in my experience with my ex. We've even done this exact scene nearly. Where hes pushing me down the hall and out the door and im gladly leaving (i never tried to put a hit out on him though so the physical part of the fight wasnt this significant) throwing all the expensive things he bought me haphazardly in a suitcase (thousands of dollars in jewelry, designer clothes and bags, etc) and screaming at each other we never wanna see eachother again, and i hate your guts, i hope you die, your mothers a hoe, etc etc. And id get in the car and start driving and about 20 minutes later he'd call my phone and just be like...can you come back? You know i didn't mean all that and id say id didnt mean it either because i truly didnt, and I'd say ok and go back home were we'd just lay in bed facing eachother just like that and whisper sorry, I love you. even though i knew in my head we were no longer compatible my heart couldnt accept it. Like in the divorce he wouldn't agree to give me even a quarter of our assets at first (i had two children with and for him!) because he knew he'd never see me again. But because he knew id most likely leave after i was financially able and given what i feel i was owed after 15 years of marriage. I loved him i still do but couldn't handle the things his cocaine addiction caused in our relationship.
