+frank wallace Yes, but you ignore the fact that life is fleeting and all human endeavor is vanity. Here today. Gone in the breadth of an instant, withered and pale. It only makes any sense at all if it is but an echo of a greater eternity. Otherwise, it's all nothing but a cruel joke... So you see, the existence of God is strongly inferred. He holds all the secrets and keeps us delightfully in darkness until the inevitable. If he speaks to us in whispers, then it is shouting in our ears for he does not need to reveal himself at all... So take heart and be infinitely thankful for the gift of the grace of whispers.

One can only imagine, in the distant centuries past, that outside of the courts of kings and queens, hearing music played on such a magnificent instrument, much less hearing a small orchestra, would have been a alien experience to the servant and serf classes. But to hear live music on beautifully designed instruments, played by skilled musicians - say in the early 17th or 18th centuries, would have been almost an out-of-body experience for the poor, common man. But a glorious sound indeed for anyone so fortunate to hear it. Even now!

Fortunately, there are many excellent lutenists now uploading their work to youtube, and hopefully reaching ever wider audiences!
