Robert Duvall deserved his Oscar nomination that year for The Apostle, and probably should have won for his incredibly nuanced performance of lost faith and found redemption.

He’s defiantly one of the best actors who has ever lived. I think his performance in Tender Mercies is his best, but The Apostle is defiantly underrated.
