Whenever i see people that are kind of fixated on the topic of narcissism, i have a feeling that they are projecting their own vices outwards

Yeah it's actually a really good tell. Actually ask them if they are a narcissist and watch how they react to it. If they are they flip it and say something like I'm no narcissist. When really it's a spectrum and we're all on it.

I've really enjoyed this episode! Thank you! I feel that Robert Greene's words on narcissism are now more relevant than 3 yeas ago, when this episode was released, as narcissism has become such a trendy word and the new villain

Tristan Harris hosted a phenomenal documentary on Netflix about social media. Very informative! It changed the way I think about these platforms after I watched it. I actually watched it twice. It’s something you can watch more than once and learn something new each time. There was actually a depressing side to it. A lot of these people that are on the documentary once worked for Facebook, Google, Pinterest, as well as Twitter. I found many of these former employees to be a bit tormented. Once they left these companies they realized the guilt and remorse that came along with a lot of these underhanded seductive ways that they actually helped create to lure us in as an audience to these platforms. I felt badly for them. They probably earned a good living but there was a heavy price tag of a weighed down conscience that came attached.

53:23 is super funny partially because he’s also laughing makes you realize it’s funny and quite disarming. Very cool that he laughs and makes you laugh too and open up.

Narcissism is not a normal human behavior. I mean "narcissist" as described by psychologists. These are dangerous people, if you become a target. You won't understand the misery and chaos they can cause in your life unless you experience it personally. I was in a 5 year "battle" with a narcissist. I almost lost everything. **Don't make light of what a narcissist is and the damage they cause to others.**

In “Laws of Human Nature,” and in some of his videos and likely other books, he stresses the danger of dealing with extreme narcissists. Stay Away if possible. But he also points out our self-absorbed human nature and discusses this in detail, and through stories, as a spectrum that all but the deepest narcissists can overcome by practicing awareness outside themselves.

Regarding the comments on marketing - That makes me think of Bill Hicks' bit on marketing and for people in marketing to "kill themselves". I find it particularly disgusting with sports betting targeted at young men in Australia through sporting bodies like the AFL.
