What a great shop with a rich history. Family is so important to successful racing. When my dad retired from racing, that was it. He wanted nothing to do with racing, period. I have struggled to make races without family support. But I sure learned a lot over the years. Love watching your racing Landen. You do so much yourself.

I loved.....LOVED the Goody's Dash Series. It was unique and fun racing. NASCAR needs to bring back the Dash Series for compact 4 cylinders, return the Busch/Nationwide/XFinity Series to V-6 engines and let Cup and Trucks retain the V-8. Give race fans and race teams more variety and options. Unique stuff is cool! I loved hearing these "angry bumblebees" take on the high-banks at Daytona. They put on a great show.

In your closing outro you mentioned "the people" . Sadly thats what we are missing today, THE PEOPLE. All of the people from the 70, 80, 90s created NASCAR and the mystique from begining on the dirt track and they "clawed" their way up. They paved the way for streets of gold for others that followed and did not end up with much if any of it. Nowadays we dont have people, we have drivers, a lot buy their way in, collect the gold and kick back. How can a 21 year old have the grit, wisdom, experiance that Huffman or the many others had. It was a tough life for them but for the love of the sport

Another excellent video! As soon as I saw Huffman in the thumb I was clicking through! Glad to see you hook up with Landon. I've been following him for awhile now. I'm pretty familiar with his dad from the old days when I used to work in NASCAR. I was actually associated with Robert Huffman's arch-apple rival in the Dash Series. I did the website for Ricky Bryant and he had sponsorship from Washington Apples. So I remember Huffman's apple cars well, and I remember him helping get Toyota off the ground as they were preparing to enter the Truck Series (and later Cup). The elder Huffman isn't featured very much on Landon's channel so that's the first time I've seen him in depth in a video recently and boy howdy, the apple didn't fall far from the tree with Landon and his dad! They look and sound very similar, even the mannerisms are alike in some ways. Great racers and a really good people, I have a ton of respect for the Huffman's and always cheering for Landon whenever I get to see him race. Sadly, that's only via KZbin videos because I don't live in NC anymore, or anywhere near there and those guys seldom come run out west here. Anyway, this video brought back a lot of fond memories for me. I always get a ton of value from your videos and I can't thank you enough for that. I never listened much to my teachers either and I did okay in life.

Originally, it was only raced at North Wilkesboro for a few races in 1973. In 1975, NASCAR picked up the series. When it started, they used 4 cylinder engines. Later on, they started using the 4 banger and v6's. In the end, it was all v6s. It was mostly run in the south. It was a cheaper way to race at a higher level.

Loving every videos you guys do, i am a big Canadian racing fan, and love the stories you provide us on these legends of motorsports, even loved the one on Hydroplane racing, i heard several legends like Mark Martin and there was another who mentioned Junior Hanley i think it was the video with the #99 Mustang car of Dick Trickle in it?, anyway i for one would really really really love to see a video on Hanley, he must be in his 80's now and it would be a tragedy if no video existed on this great Canadian legendary driver and car builder, i've read that he even built the asphalt #49 Camaro for the movie Six-Pack starring Kenny Rogers, Hanley raced all over, built cars in nearly every Stock Car racing series, he definitely has tons of amazing stories to tell (especially about his long time Canadian rival Don Biederman, and ASA greats like Senneker, Miller, Kulwicki, Eddy, Trickle, Martin, etc...) so much so, you're gonna need to divide them into several parts. I believe Hanley still lives in Wisconsin or Michigan (maybe even back in Nova Scotia?) and still races around these two States if not he is probably still building them?. Thanks for the amazing vids.

Over the years, especially since I have been watching your channel, I've noticed something I believe is very, VERY IMPORTANT! You cannot, in any way, shape or form, measure the amount of love a person has for something with statistics! If that was the case, Robert Huffman would have won every single pole, heat or feature he ever entered! Robert Huffman ABSOLUTELY LOVES RACING! I'm working on another theory about how it runs in the genes too. So this episode is going to play a big part of my conclusion! 😜 **COMING SOON**😜✌️ Thanks again guys ✌️🙏❤️

Long time follower of LH so this was pretty cool. I'm kind of glad you don't research too much before these. I'm not sure it would make your videos better. But yea, the places you go or are shown are so important. They tell their own stories and spawn a ton of great stories from the people being "interviewed". I don't think just having a sit down talk with these guys would come close to how interesting your content is. That works better for Jr or Kenny and that is fine. You're doing work to capture a lot more history that will likely be watched or used by others in the future. And as time marches on, these buildings will continue to disappear losing countless stories and history. Great stories from Robert, I remember him from the GDS days.

Back in the late 90s early 2000s, The NASCAR Racing 2 NASCAR racing 1999 sim games, there were these online forums, My handle was Dash37 because of Robert Huffman and the 37 White house car. I was a big fan of the Goody's Dash series, I wish it was still around. In my opinion they should have stuck with the 4 cyl engines. Just going to dangle this out there, another historic stock car to get going and run at a track day?!?!
