I am with Robert on this. I am all for exploring potential offers, but Lori never made one. If they are making an offer to Lori, when they have two standing offers, Robert has every right to go out. Remember the sharks don’t need them more than they need the sharks.

That's because Calm Strips was looking for an investor, not a loan shark. There is much less incentive to support a company once the money has been recuperated since the gains have been realized. With equity, the value can still drop after success until an investor's gains have been realized.

The reason Robert does this offer and you see them all do it, is this product isnt long lasting. The goal is to get everyone rich quickly and it will 100% stagnate

But this was different. Robert was put in the "chopped liver" situation when they turned to Lori just as Robert had made his offer and this was not the first time this has happened with him. Remember the entrepreneurs who pitched the posture straightening strap where the professional dancing couple demonstrated the product? "They're working the room" was the comment I believe made by either Daymond, Mark or Kevin. Robert quite rightfully asked, "Who am I, chopped liver?". This never happens with Mark. Instead, Mark's the one who puts the shot clock in action to deter the entrepreneurs from listening to offers from other sharks, always threatening to go out.

1:19 - Robert would have never done that on the Dragon's Den. Robert and Kevin used to be in the Canadian version of this show. The Canadians always let the pitchers hear out all of the deals before they make a decision. I've never understood this "Pick me now or else" attitude from the sharks in the American version.

Robert took no equity, he just gets to do 3x his money. What???! What type of deal is that???! If the company blows up Robert isn’t part of it because he doesn’t own any of it. And the fact that they hesitated to close that deal on the spot is deeply offensive to Robert for sure. But I have to say, I am not seeing the SHARK in Robert with this deal, disappointed. Robert should have said royalty till 3x with %8 equity. Just like Lori did. That would have been at least a semi shark deal.

Dude, the deal is pretty good for Robert, he gets in, does a little work and he gets his money back guaranteed, if he gets only 8% equity its gonna be a veeery long time until he profits. Its actually a pretty shit deal for the entrepreneurs, Robert is just gonna fuck right off when the deal expires. They outsharked him my ass, he offered them a blatant money grab and they accepted.
