Lyrics:
If all the children of the world would hold each other's hands
They'll be giving off such a strength
That all the walls of hate, war, and racism will fall down
Children know, understand, and believe
That there will be more and more
Love and peace, for eternity, love and peace, for everybody
Ah-ah
Ooh-ooh-ooh
Ah-ah
Ooh-ooh-ooh
Children of the world, scream your dreams
Children of the world never fear
Children of the world, scream your dreams
Children of the world get together
Scream your dream
Feel the power
Scream your dream
Feel the power
Children, children
Children
Children, children
Children
Children, children
Children, yeah-yeah-yeah
Love and peace, for eternity, love and peace, for a future time
Love and peace, for you and I, love and peace, for everybody
Love and peace, for eternity, love and peace, for a future time
Love and peace, for everybody
For everybody
Love and peace, love-love and peace
Children of the world, scream your dreams
Children of the world never fear
Children of the world, scream your dreams
Children of the world get together
Love, love, love and peace, for everybody
Love, love, love and peace, love and peace
Love, love, love and peace, for everybody
yeah-yeah-yeah
Love and peace, love-love and peace
Love and peace, for everybody

Songs like this feel like they were always meant to exist. I feel like humanity could evolve, fall, a million years could go by, a new race of humans starts to build a civilization with no knowledge that ours ever even existed, reach our 90's level of technology, and someone will make this exact same song again. (Edit) Thanks for the likes. I've found a few other songs that give the same vibe. Mo beats - righteous Start there.

Children" is one of the pioneering tracks of Dream house, a genre of electronic dance music characterized by dream-like piano melodies, and a steady four-on-the-floor bass drum. The creation of dream house was a response to social pressures in Italy during the early 1990s: the growth of rave culture among young adults, and the ensuing popularity of nightclub attendance, had created a weekly trend of deaths due to car accidents as clubbers drove across the country overnight, falling asleep at the wheel from strenuous dancing as well as alcohol and drug use. In mid-1996, deaths due to this phenomenon, called strage del sabato sera (Saturday night slaughter) in Italy, were being estimated at 2000 since the start of the decade. The move by DJs such as Miles to play slower, calming music to conclude a night's set, as a means to counteract the fast-paced, repetitive tracks that preceded, was met with approval by authorities and parents of car crash victims.

I remember being 12 yrs old and listening to Robert Miles Children late at night on my TV. I heard it through a channel that I was barely able to see due to our house not having cable tv. But somehow around 2:30am-4am while channel turning I got lucky and landed on the MTV after hours music channel! Though I could barely see anything on the tv screen, it was full of static, fuzzy grainy screen but, could hear everything clearly. I got lucky and heard it for the first time, I was captivated by what in my soul I felt was one of the most beautiful songs I had ever heard. I twisted and turned the antenna on my tv until I was able to get a decent scrambled view and saw glimpses of the video. Sometime later that year, while visiting at my cousins house, we were watching MTV, they had cable tv. I was able to see the full video and fell even more in love with the song. The video showed what some of us were going through, and how we viewed the world during our time. I felt it was made for us, and loved the video, I would watch it whenever I could at my cousins house. Thank you Robert Miles for your love and gift of this beautiful soul masterpiece, It will forever be my most favorite song 💜 RIP🌹🙏

How do we demand a re-release of this masterpiece for all those children impacted by conflict right now? Given it was just one of the reasons Robert called the song 'children' in homage to his Dad's humanitarian efforts in the former Yugoslavia, and he himself indirectly saving countless lives of Italian young clubbers in Italy.
