The '18 midterms are really important, I think and have to get the meddling fixed before 2020. It's a lot.

Thank you for putting the Russian component into context. I've had several discussions with friends and they asked a similar question. I tried to point out that meddling in our election process is tantamount to a sneak attack and that the result gave us the one person who is single handedly destroying everything else, the environment, jobs, healthcare, infrastructure and our leadership role in the world. Another result of this situation is the fact that many people will lose faith in our Democratic system, which is the bedrock of our country. If a person can loose the election by an estimated 3,000,000 votes and still occupy what used to be the most respected seat in government, what does that tell people about their "voice" in this great nation. You are correct, something of this magnitude will take time to dot all the I's and cross all the T's. It has to be done carefully and thoroughly. We're not talking about rocking the boat, we are talking about capsizing it and one cannot rush into a situation like this without taking every possible step and precaution to make sure it is done right. Thank you so much for your wisdom and keeping a level head while at the same time rallying the troops. I truly wish a person of you integrity, intelligence, and compassion would run for office. The late Soviet Union intervened regularly in the elections and politics of the West to undermine democracy. There were sizable communist parties in France and Italy, and communist front organizations, but Communist parties reached government (outside the Iron Curtain) only at the local level. Old habits die hard. Nobody should be surprised that dictator (thug) Putin is adopting modern methods to disrupt democracy in the West. Meeting with a Russian to gather dirt on an opposition candidate likely isn't a violation of campaign law (What candidate has every reported as an "in kind" contribution gossip and other information they've gotten from somebody (valuable or not) as a campaign contribution?). It's a gross breach of ethics. It'll take a Democratic sweep in the 2018 general election to neutralize this narcissist, lying, Machiavellian ruler.

We don't have a democracy, but even if we did that means we would have a society where the majority of the population gets what they want while the minority has to constantly be at odds with a system that doesn't represent their values and/or interests. I'm not sure that's in line with the Constitution, or even with ethics and plain common sense. Economists encourage the government to keep us in a cycle of neverending debt so some people can benefit from the labor of others for doing nothing at all. They expect a free ride while we watch the economists juggle some numbers around in front of our eyes hoping to amaze and astound us all with their brilliance and talent. Currency is a charity/entitlement as long as people continue working for it and giving it value. Only a Gift Economy can buy what we really want and need in life and for all invested to share and enjoy equitably; and without debt for anyone.

Robert, you might spend some time discussing Preet Bharara, his prosecution of a $250 million Russian money laundering case, his subsequent firing and the settlement of said case for a $6 million. Its a very interesting case that has Trump, Manhattan high end real estate and the Russians all having the same interests aligned.

What to do? Live holy as you pray and fast frequently for peace and justice. Don't pray for anything you don't have faith for, as faith is the currency of heaven. You wouldn't walk into Walmart and buy a $400 computer if you only have $75 to your name! Remember the Princess and the pea; small things can lead to big changes. Maybe you can pray for some Trump surrogate to say some perfectly stupid thing that will lead to an indictment, for example.
